The body responds to what the mind believes...
When one is afraid, one's shoulders begin to rise and the mind races. It's a natural response to perceived danger.
And in this heightened state, all resources are directed towards staying alive, i.e. keeping the body safe.
The critical thinking mind knows there is no danger to life or limb. However, the subconscious mind (the feeling mind) only remembers the injury that followed the last time one was vulnerable.
When you become aware of this disconnect of the mind and the body, that's when the work begins.
To resolve the conflict between the mind and body, understand the root of the fear, why it's there, and start envisioning the opposite of that fear for the future.
Let your body respond to this weightlessness and feel agency returning. Start from this place of safety and then make the move.
