We would like to address two recent news stories that you may have heard about: the CDC website changes about vaccines and autism, and the recent ACIP vote to no longer recommend the birth dose of hepatitis B vaccine for all children.

We want to be absolutely clear: there continues to be no scientific evidence that vaccines cause autism. In fact, there is an overwhelming body of high-quality research spanning multiple decades and populations that shows no relationship between the two. The suggestion on the CDC website that the data isn't clear is misleading and dangerous.

We also continue to be aligned with the American Academy of Pediatrics in recommending the birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccine for all newborns. In the past, limiting this dose to babies at higher risk for hepatitis B did not meaningfully stop the spread of this virus to babies and young children. We continue to advocate for what has safely worked for over 30 years to protect our children- universal vaccination.
