When you come for your appointment, feel free to bring a canned good or other non-perishable item. Personal care items (toilet paper, shampoo etc) also appreciated!

Illness season is upon us! Just a reminder to our patients that we are open for sick visit appointments on Saturdays AND Sundays, because kids don't just get sick Monday through Friday! There is also an on call provider available every day for concerns that come up after our office closes. Have a safe and healthy fall!

We have been getting lots of questions about the covid vaccine and wanted to share the following in answer to the most frequently asked:

1. Our practice supports the AAP recommendations regarding covid vaccine which states that the vaccine is recommended for all children 6 months to 2 years, as well as children older than 2 years with a health risk factor, or those whose parents want them to receive the vaccine.

2. We are currently unable to order covid vaccine. In accordance to Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines, when the vaccine does become available, we plan to offer it at visits as well as vaccine clinics which will be scheduled on our website.

Dowd Medical Associates was started nearly 50 years ago by a husband and wife team of doctors, the Dowds. Thomas Dowd was an obstetrician and Barbara Dowd was a pediatrician. While the Dowds retired many years ago, we strive to continue their tradition of practicing excellent medicine with an emphasis on respect and compassion for our patients.
