It is one of the busiest weeks of the year. We want to acknowledge the mental load you're carrying. If your heart is telling you to be two places at once, preparing for Thanksgiving and worrying about Mom or Dad, you are not alone. That feeling of guilt is real, but it's not a reflection of your commitment.

Our residents have been enjoying prep for our holiday festivites, and make each day one worthwhile ❤️ We are here for the entire family.

Our Mayor visted Windrose for a Veteran’s Day Celebration🇺🇸 Poems and songs filled our community to honor those who served. With deep gratitude, your bravery is never forgotten.

To the adult daughters and sons caring for a Veteran: Did you know your parent may be eligible for a significant financial benefit to help pay for assisted living or memory care? The VA Aid & Attendance benefit is a non-service-connected pension that many families don't know about.

It emphasizes brain-boosting foods like leafy greens, berries, nuts, whole grains, fish, and olive oil, while recommending limits on unhealthy foods. Our Food Services Director, Doris, curates daily menus that align with this diet proven to slow cognitive decline!

If you want to sample our brain boosting philosophy, we have been known to deliver a 🧠 healthy snack in form of charcuterie ☺️

Memory Care Tip for Families: Simplifying Communication 🗣️

When a loved one is living with Alzheimer's or dementia, communication can become challenging.
Try to:
Keep it Simple: Use short, direct sentences.
Be Patient: Allow plenty of time for a response.
Focus on Feelings: Validate their emotion, even if the words don't make sense (e.g., ""I can see you are feeling frustrated right now."")
Maintain Eye Contact: This shows you are fully present.
