Medicare Advantage Changes

We know there has been major disruption, recently, with major carriers no longer offering individual Medicare Advantage plans in NH (effective January 1, 2026). You may be considering a change to traditional Medicare for the benefits it offers: a nationwide network of doctors, less chance of having your care denied coverage as well as a stable, permanent coverage you can count on.

We are here to help! We have built a Huggins Hospital Insurance Navigator team to help answer your questions and walk you through your options and next steps.

Here are more resources for you:
- Huggins Hospital Insurance Navigators (603) 515-2009
- NH State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) 1-866-634-9412
- Medicare Plan Finder: www.medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE

We are committed to helping you access the healthcare you need. Please reach out if we can help you in any way.

Huggins Hospital Chief Medical Officer recognized with Medical Staff Award
WOLFEBORO — Huggins Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, Barry Gendron, DO, MBA, CPE, was recently recognized by the New Hampshire Hospital Association (NHHA) with the 2025 Medical Staff Award. Dr. Gendron was chosen from a group of nominees across the state of New Hampshire. Dr. Gendron was the recipient of the award for outstanding service to his hospital and community.
The NHHA’s Medical Staff Award is an honor bestowed upon a medical staff member whose professional performance has strengthened the cooperation between the hospital and medical staff and who brings credit to the institution and the community. According to the NHHA’s award dedication, Dr. Gendron has been the embodiment of excellence in healthcare leadership. He has redefined collaboration in the healthcare setting, creating an environment with no divide, only shared commitment. He champions the voices of nurses, physicians and all caregivers, fostering an environment rooted in mutual respect and accountability. His ability to unite teams toward a common goal is inspiring. And while his dedication to supporting staff is unwavering, Dr. Gendron brings the same level of commitment to delivering exceptional care to patients at Huggins Hospital.
“I was so happy to learn that Barry was chosen for this award,” said Huggins Hospital’s President & CEO Jeremy Roberge. “He is exceptional and I have witnessed, firsthand, his extraordinary leadership skills and compassion that won him this award. He cares deeply for our employees and patients as individuals. He inspires confidence and drives meaningful collaboration across different areas of the hospital. We are lucky to have him as part of our Senior Leadership Team at Huggins Hospital.”
