It’s a nationwide crisis, but will only be solved by communities, but it’s sure nice to hear folks in DC actually caring about this subject as it’s killed hundreds of thousands of people over the last decade +.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says America’s addiction crisis can’t be solved by clinics and prescriptions alone. Under the Trump administration’s Great American Recovery Plan, the federal government will invest $100 million to address opioid addiction, homelessness, and public safety through a new approach called STREETS—centered on recovery, community engagement, and evidence-based treatment. Kennedy argues the current system is fragmented and often keeps people cycling through relapse, while real recovery comes from reconnecting individuals to families, faith communities, and local support. The plan also emphasizes early intervention, especially for children, before addiction patterns harden. The message is simple and very American: recovery works best when people aren’t left alone.
