💜 November is Prematurity Awareness Month 💜

At About Women OB/GYN, we believe every week of pregnancy matters — because every baby deserves the healthiest possible start in life.

The U.S. preterm birth rate remains 10.4% — that’s 1 in 10 babies born too soon. Even more concerning, Black mothers experience a 14.7% preterm birth rate, nearly one and a half times higher than the national average.

The CDC also reports that inadequate prenatal care has reached its highest level in a decade, affecting nearly 1 in 6 pregnancies. Lack of consistent care can increase the risk of complications like preterm birth — yet it’s one of the most preventable factors.

💜 Why early and regular prenatal care matters:

❗It allows your care team to monitor your health and your baby’s development closely.
❗Risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and infections can be detected and managed early.
❗Proper education and support empower you to make healthy choices throughout pregnancy.
❗Consistent care builds a trusted partnership between you and your provider — because pregnancy is a journey we walk together.

At About Women OB/GYN, we are committed to giving every woman and every baby the best possible start.
If you’re pregnant, planning to be, or due for your next prenatal visit — don’t wait.

Every week matters. Every visit matters. Every baby matters. 💕
