Prince William County Public Schools proposed budget includes valuable health resources for students in our community. Superintendent McDade’s budget would allocate $500,000 for a mobile health van, which would provide students with immunizations, dental screenings, and vision screenings.

The van will be staffed by healthcare professionals, and the school division will not have to pay for their services, McDade said. SNVMC looks forward to this resource to serve students.

“Often we struggle to get social services and resources for families,” McDade said. “This investment will greatly support getting these resources to families that need it the most.”

In an emergency, knowing the right rhythm can help save a life. 🎶❤️ When performing CPR, chest compressions should be performed at 100–120 beats per minute, and these songs can help keep that pace.

When cardiac arrest happens, every second counts. If a teen or adult suddenly collapses, call 911, then push hard and fast in the center of the chest, using a familiar song to stay on rhythm until help arrives.

❤️ We’re Going Red for Heart Health! ❤️

Today, our teams are wearing red to shine a spotlight on heart health—and on the simple steps we can all take to protect our hearts.

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, affecting families in every community. But awareness is powerful. Knowing your blood pressure, understanding your personal risk factors, and making small, everyday healthy choices can make a big difference in preventing serious heart issues.

Together, by putting heart health first, we can build a stronger, healthier future for ourselves and the people we love. ❤️

SNVMC is celebrating a significant advancement in cardiac care at the hospital that brings innovative treatment options to our patients.

Our Heart & Vascular Center’s skilled surgical team - led by Dr. Joseph Lee, director of electrophysiology - has successfully performed its first atrial fibrillation (AFib) procedure using the Medtronic PulseSelect™ Pulsed Field Ablation System.

Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common heart rhythm disorders, affecting millions of people in the United States.

“Sharing this news with our community is a great way to bring attention to February’s American Heart Month. At Sentara, we go beyond treating your heart condition. Our goal is to help you stay healthy and active,” said SNVMC President Jeff Joyner.

Compassion Knows No Boundaries 💙

For most, a trek to Mount Everest Base Camp is the adventure of a lifetime. For one ICU nurse at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, it became something even more meaningful.

Boryana's journey became an extraordinary act of compassion, connection, and promise. It's a powerful reminder that healthcare is about more than medicine… it’s about humanity, purpose, and honoring the lives we touch every day.

While we’re moving past last weekend’s winter weather, many neighbors are still dealing with icy driveways, sidewalks, and colder temperatures that make getting out and about a challenge. ❄️

At Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, we want to remind everyone to keep safety top of mind as you head back outside. Slips and falls are one of the most common winter injuries—and they’re often preventable.

Our Emergency Department Medical Director, Dr. Bruce Kaczmarek, shared helpful tips with WUSA 9 this weekend on how to stay safe on ice, reduce your risk of falls, and what to look out for.

👉 Take a moment to watch the story linked in the comments below and review these important reminders before you head out.

Stay warm, stay safe, and take care of one another. 💙
