Dr. Hashem (Payman) Vahabzadeh-Monshie, MD is founder of Greater Washington Arthritis, Rheumatology and Osteoporosis Center in Northern Virginia. He is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and is a fellow member of the American College of Rheumatology and the Virginia Rheumatism Society VRS.

Dr. Monshie completed his internship and residency in New York and after completion of two years rheumatology research fellowship at MedStar Research Institute, subsequently completed his Rheumatology fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

During the fellowship, he pursued training in musculoskeletal Ultrasound to use this modality to diagnose joint and soft tissue rheumatism and perform precise ultrasound-guided joint injections.

Dr. Monshie has participated in publishing multiple abstracts and manuscripts which were published in the American Journal of Rheumatology (Arthritis & Rheumatism) and Clinical Rheumatology, Journal of the international league of Association for Rheumatology.

Dr. Monshie has interest in managing Fibromyalgia, Gout, Osteoporosis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Psoriatic arthritis and Lupus.

Amanda is a board-certified Physician Assistant, licensed to practice in Virginia and Maryland.

She attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, near her hometown, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a major in Neuroscience. She later went to North Carolina to pursue a Master of Physician Assistant Practice (MPAP) at Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Since graduation she has spent time in orthopedics and sleep medicine, treating patients in a variety of clinical settings. She is now excited to be working at Greater Washington Arthritis, Rheumatology and Osteoporosis Center where she can continue to provide patient-centered care. She enjoys working closely with patients to make lasting changes that improve function, and overall quality of life.

Outside of work, Amanda spends time with her husband and dogs, and delights in reading, riding motorcycles, and indoor rock climbing.

Dr. Jung Whan (James) Yoon was born in South Korea and came to Charlottesville, VA in his late teens. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a double major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Upon graduation, he pursued Master studies – an MPH from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health and an MS in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Yoon earned his medical degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship trainings at Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center/HCA Healthcare/University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Yoon has written and presented research abstracts and posters at local and national levels. His areas of interest include rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, systemic sclerosis, vasculitis, and osteoporosis.

Away from the office, Dr. Yoon enjoys spending time with his wife and son outdoors, watching and playing soccer, and traveling. In addition to English, he is fluent in Korea

The Greater Washington Arthritis, Rheumatology and Osteoporosis Center, is a Rheumatology practice in the Woodbridge, VA. The practice has served Northern Virginia and D.C. community for over 25 years. We are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of variety of rheumatic diseases.

The practice integrates excellent medical care with comprehensive services. We offer bone densitometry (DXA scan) and infusion service for diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus and other rheumatic conditions with providing the opportunity to access the latest medications.
