Women Who Make a Difference: Celebrating Dr. Daya Bale this International Women’s Day.
Today we’re proud to celebrate the incredible women who make a difference in our community, including our very own Dr. Daya Bale.
Dr. Bale’s journey into dentistry began in Mumbai, India, where she grew up inspired by medical television shows and the power of healthcare to heal and change lives. The idea of wearing the white coat and helping others felt like a superpower, setting her on a path that combined her love for science, medicine, and artistry.
After completing five years of rigorous training at Nair Hospital and Dental College at Mumbai University and earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Dr. Bale practiced dentistry in India before moving to the United States in 2004. Determined to continue her passion for patient care, she completed an Advanced Placement Program at New York University and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2008.
In 2013, she founded Only Smiles Dental with a vision of creating a warm, home-like office focused on personalized care. Her goal was simple: create a place where patients feel heard, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. For the past 13 years, she has proudly served the community by helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
Dr. Bale’s compassionate approach is also shaped by her own experience as a dental patient. As a child, she underwent extensive dental treatment after a jaw tumor affected her front teeth and smile. That experience helps her understand the fears many patients feel in the dental chair, and she strives to make every visit gentle, supportive, and positive.
Her advice to internationally trained women pursuing dentistry?
“Believe in yourself. The journey can feel overwhelming at times, but if you stay focused and persevere, you will reach the finish line.”
Let’s celebrate Dr. Bale and all the women who inspire us through dedication, resilience, and care.
Happy International Women’s Day!
