One of the most common things I hear from clients is I wish my family would be interested in eating healthier too.

Not everyone is ready for a complete switch.
Change takes time & can be fun just swapping out one thing at a time or experimenting with a different ingredient.

Spaghetti & meatballs are a common favorite.
Just choose something to make your family favorites a bit healthier. Here’s a few swaps we have made at our house that I hope can inspire some experimentation at yours🥰

Meatballs—opt for pasture raised meats and simple ingredients if buying frozen or make your own. These are beef, pork, egg, oatmeal, salt, garlic & spices. Turkey or chicken meatballs are great too.

Pasta sauce—opt for organic when possible & look at your ingredient list. You should recognize tomatoes & spices. Or make your own with organic tomato sauce & Italian seasoning & garlic powder.

Veggies—-for this quick meal, I sliced mushrooms & chopped 1/2 package spinach to mix in with the meatballs & sauce. They cook down well & are a great way to get more fiber & nutrients. If I make the meatballs myself, I love adding in diced onions & peppers too.

Pasta—I LOVE spaghetti squash & tonight I added ranch seasonings with avocado oil before baking.
Lately we have been enjoying the Miracle Noodles as a quick option too. Or try some chickpea pasta for extra protein.

It's just as important, if not more important to incorporate leafy green veggies into your holiday meals. These are a powerhouse of vitamins, minerals & nutrients. It's low in calories and high in fiber, which helps digest/detox all those other not so healthy foods too.

Need a delicious, healthy and fun new side dish for your holiday dinners? I made this one & it was a hit! You can see they left the ingredients in large pieces. I actually cut mine into chunks and it was great & easy to eat alongside some baked chicken.

How can you Keep your health goals in mind this holiday season?
Try some lower sugar options for those holiday cocktail mixers. There’s so many delicious options when you start looking for them with a different focus—read the ingredients…do you recognize them?
🧐 Most importantly…..How much sugar is in it? Try options that are lower like these sparkling waters, Ultima mocktail electrolytes, Ningxia Red, or YL drops. Plain sparkling water or soda water is great with a few slices or limes or lemons, cucumbers or berries.

Before you have another alcoholic drink, have 1-3 glasses of water. Your body will thank you 🥰 and you likely won’t drink as much alcohol.

This is a delicious option!!
No caffeine, no sugar, 1 carb and loads of great replenishment minerals. Yes!!!!!!!
Have you tried these chocolate ones hot?? Mint & Raspberry are my favorites 🥰
