Bed-wetting in children isn’t always behavioral—and it isn’t something parents are “doing wrong.”

In many cases, pelvic floor challenges in kids are connected to things like constipation, nervous system overload, sensory dysregulation, and daily habits such as hydration and movement.

Because children are still developing language and emotional awareness, their bodies often communicate stress through physical symptoms first.

That’s why it’s rarely just one cause.
It’s usually a combination of nervous system regulation, digestion, daily routines, and emotional safety.

Understanding the why behind the symptom is often the first step toward real support and lasting change.

On the Find Your Peace Podcast, guest Hannah Strom—doctor of physical therapy and owner & founder of Awake Pelvic Health—shared something we rarely talk about:

Men have pelvic floors too—and they can struggle just as much.

Urinary leakage, erectile dysfunction, chronic pelvic or testicular pain, and challenges after prostate surgery aren’t isolated issues.

They’re often connected to long-term stress, nervous system dysregulation, and pressure the body has been holding for years.

Many men suffer quietly—sometimes without even the people closest to them knowing.

Pelvic health isn’t a women-only conversation.
Stress, trauma, and pressure don’t skip genders.

🎧 Listen to the full episode, Healing From Within: Secrets of Pelvic Health with Dr. Hannah Strom, on the Find Your Peace Podcast to learn how pelvic health and nervous system regulation are deeply connected—for everyone.

For years, I thought my neck was the problem.

The migraines.
The constant tight shoulders.
The cycle of massages, adjustments, and stretches that helped…
until they didn’t.

What I didn’t realize was that my body wasn’t broken—it was compensating.

When the deep core and pelvic floor don’t feel supported or regulated,
the neck and shoulders step in to hold everything up.
They brace.
They overwork.
They take the load the rest of the body can’t carry anymore.

So the pain keeps coming back—not because you’re doing something wrong,
but because your body has been working overtime to protect you.

That’s the part most people miss.
Pain isn’t always about posture or tension.
Sometimes it’s about missing support somewhere else in the system.

And once you see the body as a system…
things finally start to make sense.

Pain that lingers isn’t asking for a stronger stretch.
It’s asking for safety.

When the nervous system has been in survival for years,
the body doesn’t just “let go” on command.

Healing begins when we stop chasing symptoms
and start listening to what the body has been protecting.

Did you know your body responds to stress before your mind can catch up?

Your pelvic floor is often the first place that tightens when you’re under pressure—even before you realize you’re overwhelmed.
That’s why chronic tension, pain, bladder issues, or discomfort aren’t random.

They’re signals.
Your nervous system trying to protect you.
Saying, “I don’t feel safe yet.”

Healing isn’t about forcing your body to relax.
It’s about helping it feel safe enough to let go.

Your pelvic floor isn’t just about childbirth or “bathroom issues.”

It’s one of the first places your body responds to stress—before you even realize you’re overwhelmed.

When your nervous system stays in fight-or-flight,
your pelvic floor tightens, braces, and holds on.

Over time, that can look like pain, leakage, tension, discomfort, or feeling disconnected from your body.

This isn’t a discipline problem.
It’s a regulation issue.

And once you understand that…
healing stops being about pushing harder
and starts being about helping your body feel safe again.

One thing I always remind my clients of…

Inner healing is a safe space.

Not condemnation.
Not “what’s wrong with you?”
Not spiritual guilt.

Not trying harder.
Not fixing yourself first.

Just this:

Come as you are.
Hand it to God.
Let Him speak truth over the places that hurt.

Because healing was never meant to start with shame.
It starts with surrender.

I don’t believe you have to clean yourself up before God meets you.

I believe you just have to show up.

And He does the rest.

This story from the Find Your Peace podcast honestly wrecked me — in the best way.

For years, she thought her problem was food.
So she tried more discipline.
More plans.
More control.

But it wasn’t about willpower.

It was about shame.

A wound her body never felt safe enough to release.

And once that wound was healed…
her body stopped fighting her.

That’s the part that got me.

Sometimes the issue isn’t food.
It isn’t motivation.
It isn’t self-control.

It’s the lie we’ve been carrying since childhood.

And God doesn’t just change behavior —
He heals at the root.

If this gave you hope, comment ❤️
And if you want to hear the full conversation, listen to the episode on the Find Your Peace Podcast — it might shift the way you see healing.

On my latest Find Your Peace podcast episode,
“True Freedom: Inner Healing, Somatic Release, and Finding Safety in Your Body,”
I shared something I see all the time with my clients:

“Your soul can experience healing… but your body might not believe it yet.”

You can love God.
You can pray.
You can forgive.
You can do all the “right” things…

…and still feel:

• stuck in fight or flight
• tense all the time
• exhausted but wired
• constantly on edge

Not because you lack faith.

But because your nervous system is still protecting you.

Sometimes your spirit has surrendered…
but your body hasn’t learned that it’s safe yet.

That’s why at Exalted Health, we don’t just focus on spiritual healing.

We include the body too.

Because God designed your whole body to live in peace — not just your thoughts.

Save this as a reminder

And DM me PEACE if you’re ready for support on your healing journey.

You don’t struggle because you lack faith.

Sometimes…

you’re just carrying a lie your heart never healed from.

A lie like:

“I’m not enough.”
“My body is broken.”
“God is disappointed in me.”
“I’ll never change.”

Inner healing isn’t about trying harder.

It’s about handing God the wound and letting Him replace the lie with truth.

Because peace isn’t something you force.

It’s something you receive.

And sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do…

is surrendering what you’ve been holding onto for years.

You don’t have to fight alone.

If this spoke to you, comment PEACE or DM me “HEALING” and I’ll share how we support this work at Exalted Health.

So many labels.
So many diagnoses.
So many medications.

But often…

It’s the same root.

A dysregulated nervous system.

POTS
IBS
Fibromyalgia
Chronic fatigue
Migraines
Panic
Long COVID
Dizziness
Nausea

These aren’t flaws.

They’re signals.

Your body isn’t broken.
It’s asking for safety.

And healing begins there at Exalted Health.

Most people are told they have
“this condition”
and “that disorder”
and “another diagnosis.”

So it starts to feel like your body is broken in ten different ways.

But what if it’s not separate problems?

What if your body has just been stuck in survival mode for too long?

Because your nervous system controls everything —
your sleep
your digestion
your hormones
your immune system
your stress response

When it’s overwhelmed, symptoms show up.

Not to punish you.
But to get your attention.

Your body isn’t fighting you.
It’s asking for safety.

And healing starts there 🤍
