In the past we have mentioned the damage caused by alcohol on your eye prosthesis. In the last few years we have seen more and more cases of damage caused by the adhesive used to apply false eye lashes. This picture was taken by my good friend and Ocularist John Brinkley with Ocular Prosthetic Designs. While in many cases this cracking is able to be fixed, it may be expensive and time consuming.

Sil-Ophtho H (Heavy) is a thicker medical grade silicone oil for use when the medium viscosity Sil-Ophtho is not providing adequate relief on your ocular prosthesis.

With the recent COVID-19 pandemic, we want to remind everyone that hand washing is very important. The use of hand sanitizers are definitely helpful in these times, however, they are VERY destructive and may cause crazing (fine cracks) in your prosthesis. Please remember to only use mild hand soap while washing your prosthesis.
