Answering some of your questions about facelifts!
A good facelift should almost always include the neck because the face and neck age together as one structural unit. Skin laxity, weakened muscles, and shifting fat pads don’t stop at the jawline, so treating only the face can leave a noticeable mismatch between a rejuvenated mid-face and an aging neck. By lifting and tightening the lower face and the neck, we create a smoother jawline, improve the neck, and restore the natural continuity that makes results look balanced rather than “operated on.”
Even after a well-performed facelift, some patients benefit from fillers or fat grafting. That’s because a facelift repositions tissue and removes excess skin, but it doesn’t fully replace the facial volume that’s lost with age. Strategic volume restoration can soften hollow areas, enhance cheek or chin definition, and refine any transitions the lift alone can’t correct. Fillers provide subtle, adjustable enhancement, while fat grafting offers a more permanent, natural alternative using the patient’s own tissue.
Together, these techniques address not just skin laxity, but also the deeper structural and volumetric changes of aging, helping create results that look more complete, natural, and long-lasting!
