Child & Teen Counseling legend, Katherine MacLeod, has officially completed her training with us and is heading off to build a practice closer to home in the South Bay. We’re so excited for her next chapter and yes, very sad to say goodbye.

During her time at CTC, Katherine truly did it all. She led our High School Girls Group, supported students through our Therapy on Campus Program, and carried a full client caseload in our office, all while being a full-time student and juggling a part-time job. (Seriously impressive.)

A few weeks ago, we sat down with this exceptional person to reflect on her time at Child & Teen Counseling. In this short video, she shares what she loved most about being here and some of the accomplishments she’s most proud of. Go give it a watch, we think you’ll love it.

Thank you Katherine MacLeod!

In this video, Maya shares something we wish more parents understood: you, dear parent, play an equally important role in your child’s therapy.

Parent meetings and family sessions aren’t just helpful, they’re powerful tools for building healthier communication, supporting your child’s growth, and giving them space to develop their own voice and autonomy.

Therapy isn’t only for the child… it’s a family process.

When parents join the work, kids feel safer, more supported, and more understood.

David Muns and Reynee Small are therapist trainees at Child & Teen Counseling in Woodland Hills, supervised by Kent Toussaint, LMFT.

In this video, they share what they see their clients struggling with most.

From playing games to making slime, it’s all about connecting with kids where they’re at: through play, creativity, and genuine connection.

At Child & Teen Counseling, we believe therapy should feel safe, engaging, and relatable. When kids feel understood, they open up — and that’s where growth begins.

If your child or teen could use extra support, we’re here to help.

Affordable therapy. Real connection.

Help out Child & Teen Counseling, nominate us by June 30th!

The Born This Way Foundation’s Kindness in Community Fund 2025 is currently accepting nominations for organizations that make a difference in their communities.

We’re hoping to get a grant to help our nonprofit Child & Teen Counseling continue the amazing work we’ve been doing through our Therapy on Campus program.

This program provides therapy, completely free of charge, to students at local schools from underserved communities who likely wouldn’t otherwise have access to mental health support. We provide these services at no cost to our partner schools.

Your nomination can help us get recognized and awarded so we can keep this program going strong.

Please consider nominating us today!

Voting takes just a moment and ends on June 30th, here's the link:

The Therapy on Campus program at our nonprofit, Child & Teen Counseling, provides counseling and emotional support for our local historically underserved communities.

$30 covers the cost of one therapy session for a student.

Last year we provided 495 free sessions at three local partner schools. You donation will help us meet and exceed that number this year!

Therapy is free for students and schools, but it costs us to run the program.

For the majority of youth we serve, we are their only mental health resource.
Please consider making a donation today so that we can keep growing the impact of our Therapy on Campus Program.

WHAT IS OUR MISSION?

The mission of Child & Teen Counseling is two-fold:
