Did you know that you could code for..THAT?! 💵 There are so many codes for things you are already doing: screenings, counseling, even vaccine discussions. 🤯

Reimbursement varies, but it's worth capturing these codes because....you just never know. (Probably somebody knows exactly whose insurance plan will pay for what but ... that somebody is not us.)

It's spring break season! Anybody headed to snake country? 🐍

It's tempting to attack the snake bite Snakes-On-A-Plane style, but - shocker - sucking the venom out of the bite is NOT the recommended technique .🤢

Here's what steps to ACTUALLY take when you encounter a snake bite - preferably in a clinical setting! 🏥

📣PSA: Do NOT ask the patient to bring the snake in to identify it. And if you are the patient, DO NOT BRING THE SNAKE WITH YOU. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Now that continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) are everywhere, we have more and more patients asking us to interpret results - even if we didn't order the CGM - so, of course, we talked about it on Primary Care RAP.

Watch for results that warrant further investigation (hello, HgbA1C!), including:
⭐Postprandial blood sugar spikes >140
⭐Postprandial blood sugar spikes lasting >2 hours
⭐Very large spikes >180
⭐Fasting blood sugars >99
