The St. John's VAN is getting fitted with lights for the Woodland Chamber of Commerce's big holiday event - the Annual Holiday Parade on Main Street, a beloved tradition featuring festive floats, bands, and community spirit - December 13th from 4-6 PM.

JOIN US! On Sunday, December 14th from 2-5pm, we are having a Holiday Open House with the theme of A Christmas Story. Set in the '40s, author Jean Shepherd's nostalgic memories, creates a fuzzy, generalized time of pre-war America in fictional Hohman, Indiana. While specific items like the Little Orphan Annie decoder ring and the Red Ryder BB gun point to that year, the movie's feel is a nostalgic mix of the era, capturing Depression-era childhood innocence before WWII fully impacted everyday life.

We thought it would be fitting and fun for folks to celebrate that era. The movie will be airing on our large screen television in the activity room with lots of reminders from the movie such as the familiar "leg lamp."

You are invited to stop by, watch the movie, or just reminisce over Ovaltine (hot chocolate) and wash-your-mouth-out with-soap cookies (sugar cookies). Stop by anytime between 2-5pm, 135 Woodland Avenue.
