We were honored to have hosted Women In Bio – Los Angeles for this special event, “How Innovation is Closing the Data Gap in Women’s Health”.

The evening brought together an incredible group of panelists Dr. Ujwala Deshmane Rajgopal, Gail Jackson, M.D., Kartin Sood, and Dr. Alexandra Moser, and moderator Shannon Lee Topinka, MBA, for a lively and thought-provoking discussion.

Together, they explored how emerging hormonal datasets are shaping the future of biotech, the importance of centering patient insights, and how innovators are working to close critical gaps in women’s health. 🧬

The Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation (TIBI) is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Stem Cell Engineering to join the team.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, Materials Science, or a related field, along with a strong publication record and demonstrated expertise in stem cell engineering, microenvironmental engineering, and the development of biomimetic systems, contributing to translational research that advances innovative biomedical solutions.

This position will support translational research efforts aimed at advancing stem cell engineering technologies toward clinical applications.

Behind the scenes in the lab 🔬: Dr. Arne Peirsman, one of our postdoctoral researchers under Dr. Vadim Jucaud, putting our new Leica STELLARIS 8 confocal microscope to work.

The STELLARIS 8 delivers higher sensitivity and spectral flexibility thanks to a tunable White Light Laser with 5 Power HyD detectors, which capture brighter signals with outstanding contrast and resolution. Dr. Peirsman is using the microscope’s multi-label imaging, that helps to separate signals, to localize different cell types and visualize perfusable microvasculature with greater fidelity within the fat tissueoid-on-a-chip. Always inspiring to see our researchers pushing innovation forward!
