Join us for our fun Egg Hunt Unidos Event on Saturday, March 28th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ferns Park (750 W. Southwood Dr.).

Join us for a day of family fun as we search for colorful Easter eggs hidden throughout the park! With eggs waiting to be found, the hunt is on to collect the most and for a chance to discover a special Golden Egg! ✨🥚

This event is for children ages 0–12, with designated egg hunt groups:
• 0–3 years
• 4–6 years
• 7–9 years
• 10–12 years
Enjoy free photos with Riza the Bunny and fun activities with Rec2Go!

At Christmas, excitement is expected.
Children are meant to be grateful, joyful, and happy the whole time.

But excitement puts the brain into high alert.
Add pressure to behave, cope, wait, perform, or enjoy every moment — and regulation becomes even harder.

When an excited brain is also carrying expectation, it can tip into overwhelm quickly.
What looks like 'too much' behaviour is often a nervous system that’s had too much input.

This visual explores how excitement affects the brain — and why understanding changes our response.

If you're looking for activities to do with your kids during this holiday season, the Yolo County Library has you covered! In their December post titled "Cold Days, Cozy Reads: Fun Family Literacy", you will learn ideas on building “together” time by creating reading corners, sipping hot chocolate, cooking together and telling your own stories posted by the library's Letty Flores.
Flores builds these posts from her own experience as a parent, her degree in early childhood education, and her work in childcare centers and as a parent educator. Thank you Letty for sharing your knowledge in Early Child Development in a variety of ways for families to build their literacy together.
