Today is National Stress Awareness Day.
It is so important to recognize the stressors in your life and the way your body and mind react to them
Here are some ways people can become more aware of stress within themselves
💭 1. Notice physical cues
Stress often shows up in the body first. Common signs include:
• Tight shoulders, clenched jaw, or shallow breathing
• Headaches or tension in the neck and back
• Fatigue, restlessness, or stomach discomfort
Check in with your body a few times a day — even pausing for 10 seconds to notice how you feel physically can be eye-opening.
🧠 2. Track emotional patterns
Emotional signs of stress include:
• Irritability or impatience
• Feeling overwhelmed or anxious
• Trouble focusing or making decisions
Headaches or tension in the neck and back
• Fatigue, restlessness, or stomach discomfort
🕒 3. Pay attention to behavior changes
Stress can quietly change habits and routines, like:
• Skipping meals or overeating
• Avoiding social time
• Relying more on caffeine, alcohol, or screens to unwind
When you notice these shifts, it’s often a clue that stress levels are higher than you realize.
🌬️ 4. Use mindfulness or breathing breaks
Taking a mindful moment — like a few slow breaths or a minute of silence — helps you tune into what’s happening inside. If it’s hard to sit still, that’s often a sign of tension or stress too.
Massage therapy helps you unwind and ease the daily stress of life.
Remember, stress can literally kill, so let’s keep the stress levels to a minimum.
