as a massage therapist can’t imagine how I will care for my
Clients “ the new normal “
😢..

This was a post I found:

Just to give everyone an idea what the new normal will be like. A friend of mine in Georgia shared this as they begin to "open up" the economy.

This is about a hair salon, but how are we going to be safe?

“I got to be the guinea pig for a hair salon today. A good friend owns it and has cut both my and My daughter’s hair for the past 18 years. She called and asked if I needed a touch up/cut (like who doesn't) and if I could go today - she wanted to test how to do social distancing, safety, etc on someone she trusted (aka wouldn't run to Facebook complaining about her like some of the ninnies do here).
Let me tell y'all about the new 'normal' for "opening up the economy":
My appointment was for 1:30pm today.
I arrived and the door was locked but there is a huge sign with the instructions for patrons and other information. In a nutshell, if you are sick - go home. If you live with someone who is sick, go home. If you have a fever - go home - but your temperature will be taken inside so don't lie - just go home. You must be wearing a mask - if you don't have one, go home or you can buy one inside for $5.
Leave all your personal belongings in your car - bring in what you will pay with and your car keys (and phone) only.
When you are outside after reading the instructions and rules, call them (number given) and give your name, appointment time and Stylist's name. if the stylist is ready for you, they will unlock the door. If not, you wait outside - there is no waiting area inside anymore.
Once in, you're asked your name, time, stylist again (just to make sure, she told me) and they confirm what you said you wanted done. The entire staff there is wearing masks and gloves. If you needed to purchase a mask, you buy it before they let you further in, if you're having color done, there is a kit there with your name on it sealed in a zip lock bag. In that are the supplies the stylist will use - cap, brushes, comb, etc. All sterilized and put in your bag for that use until they are sterilized again. There are gloves for you if you want to wear them.
You go back in and pass one of four 'Sanitation Stations' she's set up with Clorox Wipes, a spray disinfectant, Lysol, hand sanitizer and paper towels. You can use the hand sanitizer if you wish but most of that is for the stylists to use before, during and after they are working on you.
For every shampoo, you are given a makeshift face shield - a plastic hair band (the kind you wear on top of your head to pull your hair back) pulled through a sheet protector - you wear that over your eyes, nose and mouth during the shampoo - in addition to your mask - which will get wet on the sides during that shampoo. (she said she will have to tell people that so they don't bitch about it - can't help that).
The stylist changes gloves after the shampoo and after color if you're having that then after they cut your hair. She can go through at least 3 or 4 pairs of gloves with one client.
Oh and all these supplies for cleaning, gloves and masks are out of her pocket - aka additional business expenses for her - all while her business will be down since she can't take as many people or walk ins. She estimated she's losing roughly between 40 and 60% of her regular business. Oh and only two stylists can work at a time so she's bringing in her girls and she will act as receptionist/police. Two will work Mon Tues Wed, the other two will be Thurs Fri Sat and two stated they cannot/won't come back yet because they live with or are immune compromised themselves.
She did apply and was approved for the small business loan - it's currently in the queue until it's funded again. She's a little bit pi**ed that big companies got theirs and her $6K is held up. She will use it to pay the rent on the shop and pay her employees a little more to compensate for their time off. When and if she gets it, that is.
So if you've read this far, perhaps you can answer this question -opening business of this type and size are 'opening the economy' and getting us back to 'normal' how exactly??? The only people I see benefiting from this are the politicians who can puff up and claim how they got businesses back and the state who will now save on Unemployment claims?
And for all these people here celebrating how we're reopening the economy and if you are scared, just stay home - do you think for one minute those folks are going to be patient and understand that open isn't 'back to normal' and 'normal' is shot to hell???
What my friend is doing is more than enough but the truth is that our continued health and safety still rely on others using common sense and abiding by the rules - and that's the challenge because there are a lot of du*****es out there who still think this is 'just the flu'”
But the test was a success - we all wore the stuff- it was not comfortable or easy but my hair is cut and my roots are no more! WOO HOO.

Lockdown

Yes there is fear.
Yes there is isolation.
Yes there is panic buying.
Yes there is sickness.
Yes there is even death.
But,
They say that in Wuhan after so many years of noise
You can hear the birds again.
They say that after just a few weeks of quiet
The sky is no longer thick with fumes
But blue and grey and clear.
They say that in the streets of Assisi
People are singing to each other
across the empty squares,
keeping their windows open
so that those who are alone
may hear the sounds of family around them.
They say that a hotel in the West of Ireland
Is offering free meals and delivery to the housebound.
Today a young woman I know
is busy spreading fliers with her number
through the neighbourhood
So that the elders may have someone to call on.
Today Churches, Synagogues, Mosques and Temples
are preparing to welcome
and shelter the homeless, the sick, the weary
All over the world people are slowing down and reflecting
All over the world people are looking at their neighbours in a new way
All over the world people are waking up to a new reality
To how big we really are.
To how little control we really have.
To what really matters.
To Love.
So we pray and we remember that
Yes there is fear.
But there does not have to be hate.
Yes there is isolation.
But there does not have to be loneliness.
Yes there is panic buying.
But there does not have to be meanness.
Yes there is sickness.
But there does not have to be disease of the soul
Yes there is even death.
But there can always be a rebirth of love.
Wake to the choices you make as to how to live now.
Today, breathe.
Listen, behind the factory noises of your panic
The birds are singing again
The sky is clearing,
Spring is coming,
And we are always encompassed by Love.
Open the windows of your soul
And though you may not be able
to touch across the empty square,
Sing.
