On Wednesday, Cottage Hospital held our annual Donate Life flag raising, bringing staff together in a meaningful show of support. As part of this special moment, we also wrote messages of hope—filling them with gratitude, remembrance, and encouragement for those whose lives have been touched by donation.

We are so grateful to our staff who took the time to come out, reflect, and stand together in support of this important cause. Your compassion and commitment help keep hope growing in our community.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who has considered being a BOD representative, has experience on prior Boards, or is looking to explore what being on a Board of Directors is all about!

We have a diverse team coming from a variety of backgrounds and would love to add a new member who is local and can attend meetings in person. A Clinical background in healthcare is not necessary. Now THAT was a good time! 🐴🏀

Donkeyball brought the laughs, the energy, and a whole lot of fun this past weekend. It was great to see our community come together, pack the stands, and support this long-standing local tradition!

🏆 And we have some BIG news… Cottage Hospital is officially the 2026 reigning Donkeyball Champions! 🏆

A huge THANK YOU to the Woodsville Fire Department for hosting the 29th Annual Donkeyball Tournament, and to Green Mt. Donkeyball for putting on such an entertaining night. You truly made it a night to remember!

🚑 Strengthening Emergency Preparedness in Our Community 🚑

Yesterday, Cottage Hospital hosted an important hands-on training focused on managing obstetrical emergencies in rural communities. Nursing staff from our Emergency Department joined local EMS and Fire Department teams for a collaborative training led by representatives from Boston MedFlight and Dartmouth Air Response Team.

During the session, participants reviewed best practices for responding to obstetrical emergencies and practiced critical skills through hands-on scenarios. This type of training is especially important for our region because much of northern New Hampshire is considered an “OB desert.” An OB desert is an area where communities have little or no access to local obstetric services, meaning patients must often travel long distances to receive maternity care.

For our community, the closest hospitals with obstetric units are Littleton Regional Healthcare and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. When emergencies arise locally, it is crucial that our ER nurses, EMS professionals, and firefighters are prepared to stabilize and manage obstetrical emergencies until patients can safely reach specialized care.

We are grateful to Boston MedFlight and the Dartmouth Air Response Team for sharing their expertise and helping ensure our teams are ready to provide the best possible care when every second counts. 🩺
