What IS a Bemer?
“BEMER stands for Bio-Electrical Magnetic Energy Regulation. The device uses pulsing electrical signals to increase blood flow especially in the smallest capillaries. Cells are supplied with more nutrients and waste products are more efficiently removed. This helps horses by promoting relaxation and regeneration after exercise, increases physical performance and suppleness, speeds recovery after injury, and can be helpful during surgical post-recovery too. It’s useful for switching off the fight-or-flight sympathetic nervous system and sending them into the rest and digest, parasympathetic system.”

Equine Sports Massage Therapy uses a variety of massage techniques and strokes to stimulate blood flow to different areas of the body. This encourages blood flow and brings in oxygen and other nutrients, at the same time removing lactic acid build up and eliminating other metabolic waste from the body. This encourages injured muscles to heal, and healthy muscles to stay flexible and pain free.

All horses benefit from Massage. From the retired equine athlete to the active equine athlete. The trail horse to the carriage horse and race horse.

I use nothing but my hands to feel the muscle tension. This is a non-invasive and effective therapy. Each horse has different needs and I will listen to the horse as I massage and he will let me know how I need to customize the session for his needs.

Massage is not a substitute for veterinary care. If you suspect your horse has an injury, please schedule an appointment with your vet first.
