It is with great sadness that we share the news that we have lost our yoga friend, Mrs. Dot Muller. She lived fully and beautifully. Dot has been coming to yoga almost as long as I have been teaching. She was always positive, always cheerful, always inspiring. I loved her dearly. I know she is once more dancing gracefully in the arms of her beloved husband. We will miss you, Ms. Dot.

Fat Yoga Toolbox Workshop

Not sure how to find variations that work in a large body? We will explore variations and yoga props to help deepen our practice, assist with asana, and find rest. We'll also talk about how yoga can help us on our journey to body neutrality, love, and liberation.

All proceeds will benefit the Hawaii Children's Cancer Foundation. The HCCF provides financial support to families in Hawaii while their children are in treatment and offers assistance for survivors attending college or trade schools.

Class is Donation Based. Any amount will be accepted for this 2 hour workshop.
Recording will be available (will be accessible for 7 days).

Pain with neck rotation? Sometime this can be because the upper thoracic spine isn't rotating WITH the neck the way it ought to. To assist, try this stretch. I don't have a video of this and couldn't find one, so here's a description. Drop your head forward and rotate to the side that gives you difficulty. At the same time, reach across with the arm you're turned toward and grab the opposite shoulder with your finger tips (around the area shown in the picture). Let the weight of your arm pull down on the shoulder. This helps the upper thoracic vertebrae rotate with the neck. Hold for 30-60 seconds and repeat as necessary.

There's a bundle of structures including four nerves that runs just under the coracobrachialis muscle in the upper arm. It's commonly referred to as the neurovascular sleeve of the upper extremity. When this NV sleeve is restricted, we often see limited shoulder extension, horizontal abduction, and external rotation. Reduced sensation or nerve pain in the arm is also common. Here's a handy DIY nerve glide to help. Put your hand behind your head and put the front of your elbow up against a door jam to stretch your coracobrachialis. While holding this, bend and straighten your elbow to get the NV sleeve moving relative to it.
