While open enrollment for most is in progress, we wanted to let everyone know the insurances we currently take. For vision insurance, we take VSP, PVCS and CF Industries Eye Med plan. We also accept most major medical insurances. We do not accept most Medicare advantage VISION plans (the materials coverage), however we do accept the medical portion (coverage for the exam) of the Medicare advantage plans. We know this is a confusing time, so feel free to reach out with any questions you might have. We are here to help!

Dr Dewald and the team spent the weekend contining their education in Tulsa at the OAOP Coverage Fall Conference. It’s always good to get away and learn about the field. See everyone on Monday!

Very exciting news! I have been discussing this lens with parents and patients since 2020. Glad to see it will finally be available in the US.

Today, we authorized the marketing of the first eyeglass lenses to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children 6 to 12 years old at the initiation of treatment. https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-authorizes-marketing-first-eyeglass-lenses-slow-progression-pediatric-myopia

The eyeglass lenses may reduce the likelihood of severe eyesight issues later in adult life and carry lower risks than the currently approved treatment alternative for slowing progression of myopia.
