Yvonne Carol Christian

Dr. Yvonne Carol Christian, 69, of Hewitt, Texas, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on April 17, 2026, with family and friends by her side. She was a devoted mother and daughter, a loving grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her compassionate heart led her to a lifelong career in caring for others.

Yvonne was born on January 27, 1957, in Waco, Texas, and grew up in Mart, where she attended school through the 12th grade and was a member of the First Baptist Church. As an only child, she embraced her classmates as siblings and cherished those relationships throughout her life.

From an early age, Yvonne demonstrated determination, intellect, and empathy that would later define her life’s work as a Registered Nurse. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Education from The University of Texas and combined her knowledge to care for pediatric patients with special needs and provide education to their families. Her love of learning and her commitment to excellence inspired her to pursue and achieve a PhD in Nursing. With her academic accomplishments and pediatric clinical experience, she found her calling in helping others achieve their dream of becoming nurses.

In 1987, Yvonne began sharing her knowledge of pediatrics as a nursing faculty member at McLennan Community College. Hundreds of healthcare professionals began their foundation in nursing under her guidance. After many years of teaching, her curiosity and interests led her into the biopharmaceutical field, where she joined Novartis Pharmaceuticals. She was recognized for her leadership, her depth of knowledge, and her remarkable ability to connect with others. Even after retiring, Yvonne continued to care for those around her, offering nursing care and health insight to friends and family until her own cancer journey began. Her giving heart never wavered whether it be with humans or animals.

Yvonne had a passion for playing the piano. Her sweet daddy would always request Yvonne play “How Great Thou Art.” In honor of this precious memory, this song will be played at her service. Yvonne also shared her love of the Texas Rangers with her son, Cullen, and they enjoyed many games together, often pairing their outings with her love of Six Flags and the thrill of roller coasters, creating lasting memories filled with joy and laughter.

Yvonne is survived by her son, Cullen Kutscherousky; her mother, Mary Ann Christian Weatherby; her dear friend of many decades, Kim Cutrer, who was like a sister to her; her granddaughter, Keira, who brought joy and light into her life; and her beloved cats, Logan, Fluff, and Littlebit.

She was preceded in death by her son, Chase Kutscherousky; her father, Billy Christian; and her beloved cats, Baxter and Chad, whose companionship she cherished.

Yvonne’s legacy is one of compassion, dedication, and quiet strength. She will be remembered for the lives she touched, the students she guided, and the love she shared so generously.

Yvonne had deep faith in the Lord. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones and resting in the everlasting peace of God’s presence.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

Donny Peters

June 7, 1974 was the first day of wheat harvest in Northwest Oklahoma, but harvest for the Peters family had to wait one more day. Donny Paul Peters was born in the Newman Memorial Hospital to Robert and Donna Peters of Vici, Oklahoma that day. Siblings Tommy and Robbie Jo helped welcome him home.

Donny's parents bought a farm northeast of Arnett, Oklahoma. At 14 months of age the family moved there, where he attended Arnett Public Schools from kindergarten to graduating with the class of 1992. He was active in baseball and FFA. In the summer he liked to go on wagon train and trail riding trips with his grandparents. He enjoyed dancing, team roping, hunting, fishing, and being with his friends. Having a big smile, always ready, and a real gift of gab, he made friends everywhere.

After graduation, Donny attended one year at Oklahoma Panhandle State University and then moved to Nebraska to work as a ranch hand. In a couple of years he realized how lonely the cowboy life truly was. He wanted more around him, more people and more experiences. Talking to the Army recruiters in Kearney, Nebraska, he knew he wanted to serve his country in the United States Army and signed up immediately.

On April 19, 1995, he began his military life. He loved the Army and spoke often and fondly of his experiences, but mostly of his Army buddies. There was definitely a deep bond between them and only they would ever understand its depth.

He was stationed in Fort Wainwright, Alaska, with two stints in Micronesia on the island of Kosrae. He served as a mechanic and became a certified diver in the beautiful tropical water of the Pacific Ocean. Back in Alaska, his main job was on a deep sea fishing boat assisting dignitaries and retired military officials on successful fishing adventures. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he stayed active in the National Guard. Donny served sixteen years in service to his country.

He moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he worked for Empire Caterpillar and HDT Tent Company. There are several notebooks full of certificates of successful advanced training and awards on all kinds of machinery and heavy equipment. He was a trained instructor for many machines.

Occasionally, Donny would make a pot of chili for his friends and coworkers. But his cinnamon rolls were the biggest hit of all. They were legendary. He got his Grandma Peters' recipe, tweaked it a little, and they were requested everywhere.

November 1, 2019, Donny and his daughter Brenna "Parker" Peters made McGregor, TX their home, where he lived until his passing. He enjoyed his employment with Darr Equipment Company, where he made many dear friends. The many years of military service and hard labor took its toll and he became totally disabled and unable to work.

Donny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Marjorie Peters, Camargo, OK; Harold and Mamie Wayland, Arnett, OK; three uncles, one aunt, and two cousins.

Survivors include daughter, Brenna "Parker" Rose Peters; parents, Robert and Donna Peters; sister and brother-in-law, Robbie Jo and Paul Allison of McGregor, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Chanda Peters of Woodward, OK; five nephews, Travis, Troy, Wyatt, and Will Allison, and Luke Peters; three great-nieces, Carli, Londyn, and Tatum; and one great-nephew, Bodhi; other family members and a host of friends.

Vernita Wiethorn

Vernita (Holtkamp) Wiethorn was born on September 30, 1931, in Boyd, Texas, to William B. Holtkamp and Emma (Lippe) Holtkamp. She went to her heavenly home on April 17, 2026.

She was baptized on November 1, 1931, at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor, Texas, and confirmed on June 18, 1944, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fort Worth, Texas.

Vernita completed her education in Justin, Texas, attending both the elementary and high school there, and graduated on May 10, 1949. On September 30, 1950, she married Lonnie Wiethorn. They worked together on their farm for many years. She was also employed for brief periods at Walls Manufacturing and Spenco Medical.

Vernita was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford, Texas. Throughout the years, she served as a Junior Luther League leader, Sunday School teacher, choir member, Ladies Dorcas Circle member, and bereavement meal committee member. She also enjoyed playing dominoes with the church’s Golden Age group.

Later in life, she and Lonnie were members of Prime Timers and German Society where they met numerous people who became dear friends. They shared fond memories and friendships with travel tour groups, as well. Vernita spent much of her time cooking, gardening, and sewing. Playing dominoes remained a constant source of enjoyment for her—especially when playing 84 with family and friends where she often “talked across the table” when indicating a bid. Then, Lonnie would give her a look over the top of his glasses.

Above all, she loved the Lord.

She is survived by her children: Phyllis Gay Buth (Wiethorn) of Crawford–McGregor; Sharon Miller (Wiethorn) and her husband, Peter, of Missouri; and Mark Wiethorn and his wife, Sheri, of Crawford–McGregor; along with many grandchildren and great‑grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Wiethorn; her son, Gary Wiethorn; and her daughter, Nancy Wiethorn.

The family would like to thank the caring staff and caregivers at The Arbor House, as well as the nurses and team at Bluebonnet Health Services, for their compassionate care.

For those desiring, memorials may be given in her honor to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Crawford, St. Paul Memorial Park of Crawford, or Bluebonnet Health Services hospice care.

Visitation with family present on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 6:00-7:30 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford, Texas.

Memorial Service on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford, Texas.

Dorothy Lee Yarbrough (Robinson) went to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ, on April 12, 2026 while holding the hand of a loved one and listening to some favorite hymns. She was born on April 21, 1931 and lived a long, full life devoted to her family and her faith.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carvel Dell Yarbrough; her children, James Yarbrough, Cindy Hamilton, and Stephen Yarbrough; and her cherished dog, Ladybug. Jane "Janie" Ann Bryant

Jane Ann Bryant, lovingly known as Janie and GJ, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, in Waco, Texas. Born on July 27, 1945, in Port Neches, Texas, Janie’s life was marked by unwavering love and deep connections that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Janie was a beacon of warmth and kindness, cultivating lifelong friendships, some that began as early as kindergarten. To her, these bonds were the threads of her life’s journey. But above all, her family was her greatest joy and pride. Janie’s love for her daughters and grandchildren was profound and unyielding.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna (David) Phillips, Cyndi (Rigo) Gonzalez, Robin (Scot) Loranc, and Tricia (Abel) Vasquez. GJ's spirit lives on vibrantly in the sixteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren who carry forward her legacy of love. Janie’s family circle extended with her sister Joyce Allison and her in-laws Sylvia Dobbs, Jimmy and Virginia Bryant, Hanna and Lee McCleary, alongside a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous lifelong friends who loved her dearly. Each relationship was nurtured with such care and devotion.

Janie is preceded by her beloved husband, Jerry Don Bryant, her daughters Kellie Kirkpatrick and Gwen Diaz, her parents, J.P. (Preston) Dobbs and Curley (Lillie Mae) Dobbs, and her brother J.P. Dobbs.

She will be remembered not only for the love she gave but for the love she inspired in return. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace. A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Jackie Estelle Roberson

Jackie Estelle Roberson, born Jackie Estelle McNeely, age 82, of Bruceville Tx, passed away on April 9, 2026.

Jackie was born on August 3, 1943, in McGregor, where she was raised and later met the love of her life, Kenneth Roberson. As the story goes, Kenneth was sitting with his father at Jackie’s mother’s business when he first saw her and declared, “I am going to marry that girl.” True to his word, the two were married on August 7, 1959, and went on to share 60 wonderful years together.

Together they raised three sons—Randy, Kenny, and Keith—three rambunctious boys who kept life busy and full of energy, especially with their involvement in sports. Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, and Memaw.

Jackie worked for Fab-Knit and later retired from Powers Embroidery, where she was so appreciated that she was invited back to work part-time for several years. She was talented and creative, spending time crafting and painting her own wood carvings. She enjoyed doing puzzles, and going on road trips to casinos. Jackie loved visiting with friends and family—she was incredibly social, never met a stranger, and left a lasting impression wherever she went. She was truly one of a kind: bold, spirited, and a bit of a firecracker when the moment called for it.

Some of the most cherished memories were made during the family’s annual Fourth of July week-long gatherings at the tank on their land—filled with singing, card games, darts, laughter, and stories of the good old days. Jackie was also an avid spoons player and brought joy and energy to every gathering.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Kenneth Roberson, and her oldest son, Randy Roberson. Her sisters Charlene Reeves and MaryAnn Bone and brother Wimpy McNeely.

She is survived by her sons, Kenny Roberson and wife Yvonne, and Keith “Rooster” Roberson and wife Valerie; granddaughters Crystal Roberson and Kayla Roberson; and great-grandsons Ross and Rooney Bell. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

At Jackie’s request, no memorial services will be held. Instead, she asked that everyone celebrate her life in their own way—and, if possible, have a “Cocktail” in her honor.

Jackie will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever celebrated by all who knew and loved her.

Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who cared for and supported her during her final weeks. Your compassion and kindness brought comfort not only to her, but to all of us.
