Most people who start therapy don’t feel “ready.”

They feel tired. Tired of managing it alone. Tired of pretending it’s fine. Tired of hoping it will fix itself.

Starting therapy isn’t about weakness. It’s about choosing a different direction.

At Anazao, we make the process clear. We accept Medicaid and most major insurance plans. And if there’s a wait, we connect you to support right away.

If you’ve been carrying something quietly, you don’t have to anymore.

“No one’s perfect. Everyone struggles. Some just hide it better.”

That’s something Joe Messner has learned in his 31 years at Anazao. As a mental health and substance use counselor, Joe works with people from 7 to 91 years old. No matter their age or background, one thing stays the same: everyone is carrying something. Joe believes therapy isn’t about fixing broken people. It’s about honest conversations that help you chart a new course.

We’re grateful for the steady, grounded presence he brings to our community.

March Madness makes sports betting feel like it’s everywhere right now.

For most people it stays entertainment. For others, it slowly becomes something they start questioning.

If you’ve ever wondered “Is my betting becoming a problem?” you’re not alone. We wrote a short guide that explains the early warning signs, what to watch for, and how to stay in control. And if you ever want to talk with someone about stress, habits, or mental health support, Anazao is here to help.

Gambling isn’t just at the casino—it’s in our kids' pockets.

Our staff are at the Problem Gambling Network of Ohio (PGNO) conference this week, and the biggest takeaway is how quickly the line between "gaming" and "gambling" has blurred.

From loot boxes and in-game purchases that mimic slot machines, to tech-savvy teens finding ways onto sports betting apps or prediction sites like Polymarket, the risks are closer to home than many realize.

Parents, take a moment to check in:
-Is your teen spending more on "in-game" items than the actual game cost?
-Are they showing unusual anxiety over sports scores or "bad beats"?
-Have you noticed unexplained charges on your credit card?

If you're worried that gaming has turned into a gambling problem, you don't have to figure it out alone. Anazao Community Partners is here to help families in Wayne and Holmes Counties navigate these challenges with practical, professional support.

Let’s help our kids stay ahead of the game. HolmesCounty

Meet J. Greg Morrison, a steady presence at Anazao for more than 20 years.

Greg has been with Anazao since 2002, starting as a behavioral health educator and now serving as a Community Care Worker. His work takes him into local middle and high schools and out into the community, where he supports adolescents, young adults, and their families.

Greg didn’t set out on this career path—the work found him. His curiosity about people and heart for young people led him to work that helps individuals better understand themselves and build skills to live meaningful lives right now.

Greg often reminds people that therapy isn’t about being told what to do. It’s about having space to be seen, heard, and understood, at your own pace.
Outside of work, Greg has returned to a longtime passion: making music. Writing, recording, and performing again has been a full-circle joy for him.

We’re grateful for Greg and the care he’s been bringing to our community for over two decades.
