The 2026 District of the Year is Cloverleaf Local Schools! Cloverleaf won the award for their commitment to inclusion, passionate leadership, and superior community engagement. The district is extremely supportive of their program and the league, even as their own program has dealt with multiple recent challenges this year. They supported one team member through a serious illness and another through a season-ending injury, while never missing a game. The leaders of Cloverleaf have embraced OIAS and wheelchair basketball and routinely host neutral site games.

Michalec is the owner of a perfect 35-0 record over his two seasons as Head Coach of the Blue Devils including two of the team’s three league championships. Michalec is a strong developer of players from all levels with an ability to tap into his players’ strengths.
