Most people don’t realize how many families in Wooster and surrounding areas are struggling just to get basic healthcare.

This episode hits different.

The Healthcare Gap No One Is Talking About: Mark Yoder and Viola Startzman Clinic

I sat down with Mark Yoder from the Viola Startzman Clinic, and what he shared opened my eyes.
We talked about:
The real reason he got into healthcare
The gap in care right here in Wayne & Holmes County
What people misunderstand about “free clinics”
How ONE insured visit can help provide care for 3–4 others
The mental health challenges most people don’t see
And the pressure of leading when funding gets cut

But what stood out most?

This isn’t just about healthcare.

It’s about people.

Families.

Real stories that don’t make the headlines.

Access to care isn’t a luxury—it’s something that impacts every single one of us, whether we realize it or not.

If you live in this area, this is a conversation you need to hear.
And if you’ve ever felt called to do something meaningful…
this episode might be the push you’ve been waiting for.

Thank you for letting us dive into a good book and be a part of your "school" of readers! 🌊🐠

Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes to keep our community healthy? 🧠✨

This map shows just how far our reach goes! As your Mental Health and Recovery Board, we don’t just talk about change, we make it happen. We assess the needs of our neighbors, plan for the future, fund essential services, evaluate programs for success, and collaborate with partners across the board.

None of this would be possible without YOU. Because we are levy-funded, your support allows us to build a stronger, more resilient community every single day. Thank you for investing in mental health and recovery!

Saturday was all about the kids! 🌟

Our team was thrilled to participate in the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day at the Orrville location. It was a wonderful opportunity to share resources with parents and see the community come together for a day of fun, including free swimming and great local food.
Supporting the physical and mental well-being of our youth is at the heart of what we do. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hi! 👋

We had a blast at Pizza & Books! 🍕📚

The Mental Health & Recovery Board of Wayne & Holmes Counties was so happy to participate in Friday's event at the Orrville Public Library. It was wonderful to see the community come together for an evening of food, games, and reading.

A huge thank you to the Turning Point Coalition and Orrville Public Library for their partnership in making this such a success. We love supporting events that build strong connections for our local students and families!
