If you’ve ever wondered how ordinary people can make an extraordinary impact in a child’s life, this conversation will stick with you.

On this episode of the Best of Wooster Podcast, I sat down with Cathy Ballinger Brown, Foster Care Program Marketer with The Village Network, to talk about the real need for foster families and what advocacy for children looks like behind the scenes.

Cathy shares how her passion for working with kids and teens grew into meaningful work that now stretches across Ohio. From community events and churches to libraries and local festivals, she spends her time helping people better understand the foster care system and showing them how they can step in and make a difference.

In this episode, we talk about what most people do not realize about foster care, why the need for foster homes is so urgent, how this work became more than a job for Cathy, and what someone should do if they have ever considered becoming a foster parent.

This is one of those conversations that reminds you that changing lives does not always start with something big. Sometimes it starts with being willing to care.
Give it a listen, and if you know someone who has ever talked about fostering or supporting kids in need, share this episode with them.

We Empower Youth And Their Families To Build Brighter Futures

At The Village Network, we believe that every child and young adult deserves to be loved and nurtured in order to live a healthy, meaningful and positive life. Since 1946, we’ve been providing compassionate treatment to support the behavioral, physical and emotional health of children and families, where the needs of each child are individually assessed and dynamic treatment plans are specifically designed to properly transition them from disruptive to permanent, stable environments.
