Due to the updated federal education policy no longer delineating physical therapists as “professionals,” a surprising new opportunity has opened up: primates can now work in the physical therapy environment!

After years of training, macaque monkey assistants are finally eligible to help in the clinic - but until now, regulations prevented them from joining the team. Greendale is excited to embrace this innovative approach, improving patient care while reducing costs. Truly a win-win!

Our new macaque monkey, coming from Smithsonian's National Zoo, will be starting at the Worcester – Main Clinic in May, and we get to name him!

We’re running a contest to name him - drop your suggestions in the comments below - if you know what we are thinking - don't spoil the surprise for others! The winning name will be officially announced when he joins the team!

Here’s to the future of PT… and our newest team member!

As the medical community continues to seek advancements in neurological care, Greendale Physical Therapy is highlighting the critical role that specialized physical therapy plays in managing Parkinson’s disease (PD).
Parkinson’s disease is a progressive disorder that impacts movement, balance, and coordination. However, it also presents other challenges, including chronic fatigue, pain, and cognitive changes.
While a cure for PD has not yet been discovered, clinical research confirms that targeted physical intervention can significantly mitigate these motor and non-motor symptoms.
Physical therapy can help restore or maintain physical function, mobility, and independence according to research involving thousands of people with PD. Specialized therapists focus on retraining the brain and body to overcome the physical limitations imposed by the disorder.
**The Power of Movement (Focus on Independence)
Parkinson’s is about more than a tremor—it’s about how you move every day. Physical therapy is a proven way to maintain your independence and keep moving with confidence. 👟✨

**Go BIG (Focus on Mobility)
Did you know PD can "shrink" your movements? Programs like LSVT BIG retrain your brain to use bigger, intentional steps to improve your mobility. Stop shuffling and start moving with purpose! 🚶‍♂️💨

**Steady Your Feet (Focus on Balance)
Struggling with balance? PD makes it harder for your brain to process signals from your eyes and ears. We use specialized stability challenges to help you stay steady and safe. ⚖️💪

**Healing the Whole Person (Focus on "Hidden" Challenges)
Parkinson’s brings hidden challenges like fatigue and pain. Specialized PT doesn’t just look at movement—it addresses the whole person with strategies to boost your energy and manage pain. 🌿🛋️

If you know someone or are someone who has Parkinson's, feel free to reach us to book your appointment! -

Charles Inniss, a Physical Therapist by training and Wellness Coach by trade, has a newly released book that we absolutely love and believe can help many in the Greendale community.

Up Your Optimism Game: How to Turn Stress, Depression, and Anxiety into Joy, Happiness, and Peace of Mind offers practical, easy-to-use tools to handle stress, build confidence, and reclaim energy.

Up Your Optimism Game shows you how to move from stress, worry, and self-criticism to focus, energy, and joy. 🚨 Not your typical day at Greendale PT! 🚨

Tony, Ivo, and Jon took on an unexpected role today—dog wranglers on Rt. 9!

They safely corralled two loose pups (saving them from a dangerous situation) and kept them entertained until their owners arrived.

Physical therapists by trade… animal rescuers when needed. 🐶💪
