We celebrated our January birthdays with a party that featured music by Audrey Brake and white cake with spumoni ice cream. What a treat!

Late last year, the family of Bernard and Diane Thier made a generous donation to Ecumen Meadows in their parent's memory. They specified that the money was to be used for our team members in appreciation of the care their parents received during their years living at the Meadows.

With their donation we had a holiday celebration in December and last week, we rang in the new year with a taco bar fiesta!

Thank you, Thier family! It feels so good to be appreciated!

Tricia Bolster from the Minnesota Access to Communication Technology department of MN Department of Human Services was our January Community Coffee speaker.

Tricia described all the different assistive devices available for people who have trouble hearing when using the phone. There are aids such as cell phone amplifiers, amplified and caption phones, hearing aid streamers, voice amplifier, iPads and tablets, and more available to make using the phone easier.

These devices are FREE to qualified Minnesotans who have a hearing loss, physical disability or speech disability that makes it hard to use the phone. For details, you may contact MN ACT by phone at 1-800-657-3663 or by email at dhs.dhhsd@state.mn.us.

At Ecumen Meadows, every resident’s story matters. Recently, during a visitation for one of our beloved memory care residents, Ray, our Resident Assistant Claire created something truly special—a beautiful scrapbook capturing his life and moments in memory care.

“This was the highlight of the visitation,” says Denise Erwin, our Senior Living Consultant. “The family was so touched; it was incredibly meaningful.” Claire has made a scrapbook for every resident, showing the love, care, and connection that makes Ecumen Meadows such a special place.

We’re honored to provide a community where memories are celebrated, hearts are cared for, and every story is remembered.

We're so happy to welcome Myron and Lois to our Ecumen Meadows family!

Lois is a teacher by trade. Over the years, she has taught a wide variety of subjects to students of all ages. She was an elementary school teacher to students in Pre-K – 3rd grade. Lois led bible classes and she also taught AARP classes to students age 50 and up.

Myron earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota. He held an impressive 30-year career at Minnegasco. After retirement, Myron did a lot of volunteer work and served on various boards. He currently serves on the Alpha Kappa Psi Scholarship Fund board of directors.

The couple relocated from Bloomington to be closer to their daughter and family in Adrian. We are thrilled that they chose Ecumen Meadows as their new home!

Quilt experts Kenny & Zuby give their stamp of approval on these beautiful quilts we are selling raffle tickets for. Winners will be drawn on February 13th, so be sure to get your tickets today before it's too late. We will use the proceeds to purchase new wheelchair accessible transportation for our residents.

We LOVE Dolly Parton, so we threw a party to celebrate her 80th birthday! Our dining team made Dolly Parton's 5-ingredient casserole recipe along with Dolly's favorite dessert bars. Galen Benton learned four Dolly Parton songs just for the occasion. The party was filled with fun, laughter, and sparkle, just like Dolly!

We gathered up our Christmas trees for one last seasonal hurrah during our annual Reindeer Games event! Our wonderful team members played the role of reindeer, weaving in and out of the trees, while residents joined in the fun using Nerf blasters to tag them. Laughter and excitement filled the space, and a great time was had by all!
