Our physicians and staff are committed to exceeding the standards of medical care with courtesy and consideration for families, caregivers, and our patients. We strive to minimize your time in the waiting room and optimize your knowledge of your children's health and wellness. We currently have 5 full time and 1 part time physician in our group and we do not use mid-level providers ensuring that you will see a medical doctor at your visit.

Pecan Tree Pediatrics is pleased to announce that we are transitioning to a new online check-in system!

This new system will streamline the entire practice and make it more efficient. The transition will take place the week of August 25th through September 5th, 2025.

We are sharing this with you now because you will notice a few issues while implementing the new system. Please be patient with our staff and providers as we will learn this new system together. You may notice it takes a little bit longer to schedule an appointment, or a visit may take longer than is typical as we adjust to new screens and workflows. There may also be a period of overlap that will cause you to receive two different check-in links—one from our current system and another from the new system.

With the new portal, you will still be able to send us messages, view immunization records, view current medications, and pay your bill online. The "improved" piece is that more than one person may have login access to the patient portal, and all siblings in a family will be linked under a single portal login!
In the meantime, please call the office with any questions or concerns.

We will keep you updated through our page and website. We are so excited about this positive change and look forward to sharing it with you!

There is currently an outbreak of Measles in Texas and, as of February 26, 2025, there is a known case of an infected person in Rockwall County. It is our recommendation that patients between the ages of 6 months - 23 months schedule an appointment to receive a dose of the MMR vaccine, and patients 24 months and up schedule an appointment to receive a dose of the MMRV vaccine. There will need to be at least 4 weeks between this dose of MMR and any other live vaccine. Please call our office to schedule.

Protection can take up to 2 weeks after having the MMR vaccine. After 2 doses, around 99% of people will be protected against measles and rubella.

Measles: "A viral infection that's serious for small children but is easily preventable by a vaccine.

The disease spreads through the air by respiratory droplets produced from coughing or sneezing.

Measles symptoms don't appear until 10 to 14 days after exposure. They include cough, runny nose, inflamed eyes, sore throat, fever, and a red, blotchy skin rash.

Measles can also lead to more severe issues, including pneumonia, encephalitis, brain damage, and pregnancy complications. Complications of measles can occur in anyone, including in healthy children and adults.

There's no treatment to get rid of an established measles infection, but over-the-counter fever reducers or vitamin A may help with symptoms."
