Bill Lee Sissel-Hill, 61, a resident of Cherry Valley, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, March 15, 2026, at his home. He was born November 19, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Geary Lynn and Nova Ann Gunkel Sissel.
Bill Lee Sissel-Hill graduated from Mannford High School in Oklahoma. Throughout his life, he worked diligently as both an electrician and a carpenter, dedicating many years to these professions. Bill was a devoted Christian who cherished his faith, consistently engaging in daily prayers and striving to live each day to its fullest. Known for his unique personality and unwavering work ethic, Bill always made sure to provide for his loved ones. Upon retirement, he shifted his focus entirely to his family, spending treasured moments together. Bill found joy in fishing, woodburning, making jewelry, and pursuing various other crafts that allowed him to use his hands creatively. His presence and the warmth he brought to those around him will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father: Geary Sissel, mother: Nova Hill, stepfather: Rex Hill, and one brother: Bobby Sissel-Hill.
Survivors include his longtime companion: Teresa Hill of Cherry Valley, one son: Brad Sissel-Hill and his wife Brittany of Wynne, three sisters: Karen Magana of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tassie Laurie and June Sissel both of Washington, two grandchildren: Aidan Thomas, Anna Leigh Sissell-Hill, mother-in-law: Elizabeth Andrews of Cherry Valley, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Raymond Lee Hubbard, 78, a resident of Wynne, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born, November 21, 1947, in Wynne, the son of Ceasar, Sr. and Bertha Lee Peery Hubbard. He married Joyce Ann Mayo on March 3, 2017.
Ray was a high school graduate and worked for the sanitation department in Chicago for many years before moving back to Wynne, where he worked for Matthews Sweet Potato Farm until he retired. He was a member of the New St. James’s M.B. Church and enjoyed singing gospel and Jazz songs, cooking, fishing, playing cards and darts. Ray started dart tournaments in the area and was a fierce competitor, he also enjoyed traveling with Joyce, he was easy to talk to about your problems and always gave Godly advice. He was cared for others before himself, known as a good hearted many who smiled all the time. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father: Ceasar Hubbard, Sr., mother: Bertha Sublett, ten brothers: Fred Hubbard, Ceasar Hubbard, Jr, James Hubbard, QT Sublett, Harry Sublett, John Sublett, Vernon Sublett, Donald Sublett, Calvin Sublett, President Warrant, seven sisters: Lois Turner, Caldonia Edwards, Letha Lampkins, Julia Long, Sadie Sublett, Mary Sublett, Callie Edwards.
Survivors include his wife of nine years: Joyce Hubbard of Wynne, four sons: Rahi “Rudy” Hubbard of Chicago, Ray Hubbard, Jr. of Jonesboro, Jamel (Sunshine) Hubbard of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jachel Hubbard of Atlanta, Georgia, two daughters: Erika Echols of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Eustacia Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, four step-children: Lashaunda King of Searcy, Qwonketa Mansko of Conway, Quiana Mayo of Jonesboro, Eric Mayo of Wynne, four brothers: Ronald Hutchins of Forrest City, Lee Sublett of Wynne, Robert Sublett of Clarksville, Tennessee, Mark Hubbard, six sisters: Victoria McCoy of Kansas City, Kansas, Alberta Jackson of Dallas, Texas, Willie Ann Knox of Wynne, Susie Jones, Josie Banks, Deborah Wiggerton, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sandra Kay Matthews, aged 72, was a cherished resident of Jonesboro who departed this life on Sunday, March 8, 2026, following a courageous and lengthy battle. Now, she rests peacefully. Sandra was born on June 2, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee, the beloved daughter of Roy and Mary Glen Hamrick Matthews.
Sandra graduated from Parkin High School in 1972. Throughout her professional life, she served as a purchasing agent for Dupont and later worked as a CNA at Crestpark. In her free time, Sandra enjoyed bowling, camping, riding motorcycles, traveling, and spending time at the beach. She was known for her vibrant sense of humor and her spirited personality, often described as having a "firecracker side." Sandra was a fierce “mama bear” to many and deeply loved her family, especially her son, David. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary Matthews, her son Danny Lee Baker II, and her sister Patricia Storekel.
She is survived by her son, David Baker of Jonesboro; her brother, Roy Matthews of Cherry Valley; her sister, Linda Casalman and husband Glenn of Vanndale; two grandchildren, Julian Pierce and Katherine Baker; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a graveside memorial service on Saturday, March 21, at 11:00 a.m. in the Parkin Cemetery.

Michael Joseph Boger, 67, a resident of Cherry Valley, tragically died in a house fire, Friday, February 27, 2026. He was born, August 19, 1959, in Massachusetts, the son of Hiram and Pauline Lanza Boger.

Michael worked for an Interior Design company in Little Rock for many years before moving to Cherry Valley where he worked on the farm and owned Rockhound Records, a local record store.
He enjoyed playing the guitar, camping, fishing, yard work and being outdoors. He was known as being a comedian, always making others laugh. Above all he was a good loving husband and father and took care of his family.

He was preceded in death by his father: Hiram Boger, Mother: Pauline McKnight and his step-son: Samuel Daqqaq, one brother: Brian Boger.

Survivors include his wife: Connie Renee Cowgill Boger of the home, two sons: Jeremy Boger and his wife Dlynn of Russellville, Josh Boger and wife Kayla of Cave Springs, one daughter: Haley Townsend and husband Jay of Maumelle, two brothers: David and Kevin Boger and five grandchildren: Abbie Urchison, Presli Boger, Paton Townsend, John Townsend, Kennedy Boger and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held for Mike to be announced soon.

Samuel John Daqqaq, 32, a resident of Cherry Valley, died a hero trying to save his step-father from a house fire, Friday, February 27, 2026. He was born, January 18, 1994, in Forrest City, the son of Connie Renee Cowgill Daqqaq Boger.

Samuel was and artist and impressionist and could do many different country accents, his favorite was Irish and Scottish, he loved to make others laugh. Sam was a good cook, enjoyed fishing, camping and telling jokes. He was an amazing person and loved his family. He was a real hero who died doing a selfless act. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his step-father: Michael Boger.

Survivors include his mother: Connie Boger of Cherry Valley, two sisters: Holla and Sarah.

A memorial service will be held for Samuel and Mike, to be announced soon.

James Leroy Hall, Jr., 74, a resident of Parkin, departed this life, Monday, March 2, 2026, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born on November 24, 951, in Elkton, Maryland, the son of James Leroy, Sr and Elsie Irene McDonald Hall. He married Miss Vicky Lynn Hogland on April 13, 2007.
James dedicated a decade of his life to the United States Army, serving from 1973 until 1983. During his military career, he was stationed in Germany and Greece, where he fulfilled his duties with pride and commitment. He achieved the rank of Sergeant before leaving the Army, a testament to his leadership and work ethic. Following his military service, James transitioned into the transportation industry, working for Damron Trucking in Counts, Tennessee. He spent several years as a semi-truck driver, demonstrating reliability and dedication in his role. After retiring from trucking, James continued his service to the community by working as a Code Enforcement officer in Parkin, a position he held until recently. Outside of work, James enjoyed working on small engines and tinkering during his spare time. He was known for his easy-going nature, warm smile, and ability to make friends wherever he went. Above all, James was a devoted husband who cherished time spent with his family and friends, creating lasting memories with those he loved.
James was preceded in death by his parents: James, Sr and Elsie Hall.
Survivors include his wife of eighteen years: Vicky Lynn Hall of the home, one son: Terry Hall of Earle, one daughter: Kristy Hall and husband Bart of Tennessee, one brother: Richard Hall of Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania, two sisters: Delores Powers of Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania, Tamela Smith of Canton, Georgia, three grandchildren: Tristian, Paige, Graham and several great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

Jo Ellen Butcher, 66, a resident of Wynne, departed this life, Thursday, February 26, 2026, in Jonesboro. She was born, May 16, 1959, in Alexandria, Louisiana, the daughter of George Clinton and Eleinore Elizabeth (Gray) Fleming.
Jo Ellen was a proud member of the Ripley, Mississippi High School graduating class of 1978. She went on to dedicate much of her professional life to serving others as a nursing home administrator in Ripley, Mississippi, demonstrating compassion and commitment throughout her career. Growing up in a military family, Jo Ellen experienced life in various locations around the world, including time spent in Japan. These formative years instilled in her a sense of adaptability and openness to new experiences. During her youth, she participated in the Girl Scouts, a tradition she continued by supporting her daughter’s involvement in the organization. Jo Ellen was known for her dry sense of humor, which brought smiles to those around her. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including sewing, crocheting, quilting, and rafting. In addition, she was an avid reader, always eager to explore new stories and ideas. Above all, Jo Ellen considered raising her only child, Megan, to be her greatest accomplishment and source of pride.
She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Eleinore Fleming and one grandchild: Payne Pannell.
Jo is survived by her daughter: Megan Pannell and wife Beth King, two sisters: Cheryl Fleming of Point Pilot, Texas, Sandii Fleming of Grand Saline, Texas and one grandson: Jacob Pannell of Wynne and a host of other relatives and friends.

James Rumsey Johnson, Sr., 70, a resident of Marianna, departed this life, Monday, February 23, 2026, at his home. He was born, November 12, 1955, in Sherman Texas, the son of Harold and Learline Conner Johnson.
Throughout much of his life, James faced the challenges of living with a disability. Despite these difficulties, he demonstrated remarkable skill as a mechanic, earning a reputation for his mechanical abilities. In his younger years, James participated in a demolition derby, proudly driving a 1957 Chevy Bel Air—a testament to his adventurous spirit and love of cars. James’s interests extended beyond cars. He found enjoyment in fishing and was an avid fan of all sports. Those who had the privilege of calling James a friend knew his loyalty and steadfastness; he was the kind of person whose friendship lasted a lifetime. Known for his fun-loving nature, intelligence, and sharp wit, James had a way of bringing laughter to those around him with his jokes and good humor. James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, leaving behind cherished memories of his kindness, humor, and unwavering friendship.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Learline Johnson, one brother: John Bennie Johnson, two sisters: Sharon Johnson and Wilma Johnson.

Rhonda McKnight, 67, a resident of Wynne, AR, departed this life, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Cross Ridge Hospital in Wynne with her family by her side. She was born on January 11, 1959, in Wynne, AR, the daughter of Monroe and Jimmie Lou Murray Young.

Rhonda graduated from Wynne High School, which marked the beginning of her professional journey. She committed many years of her life to working at Addison Shoe Factory, where she honed her skills and built meaningful, lasting relationships with her colleagues. After a fulfilling career, Rhonda eventually retired, taking great pride in her work and finding true enjoyment in her profession. Beyond her career, Rhonda deeply valued the moments spent with her children and grandchildren and siblings, always serving as her family’s strongest supporter. She believed that everyone she met was like family, considering no one a stranger. Rhonda’s love for cooking was well known, as she frequently prepared meals for anyone in need. She also enjoyed relaxing with her favorite television shows, including "Golden Girls," "Blue Bloods," and a variety of crime series. Additionally, Rhonda had a compassionate heart for animals and took joy in caring for them.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Monroe Young and Jimmie Lou Kilpatrick; one daughter; Cara Beth Spivey.

Rhonda is survived by her husband; Robert McKnight; her two sons; Kyle (Rae) Ellis of Wynne, AR and Jason Shumard of Cabot; one brother; Mark (Darlene) Young of Wynne, AR; two sisters; Patti Rolland of Little Rock, AR and Donna (Ken) Anderson of Benton, AR; her “My Barbara” of Wynne; eight Grandchildren; Dylan, Colby and Colton Ellis, Gavin and Stormie Bauder, Allen, Chase and McKenzie Parrish; two great grandchildren; Gabriel Ellis and Rynlee Parish.

Mary Sue Eubanks, 68, a resident of Jonesboro, AR, departed this life, Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice in Jonesboro with her family by her side. She was born, August 10, 1957, in Jonesboro, AR , the daughter of Arthur Everette Eubanks and Mary Catherine Hansen Eubanks.

Mary graduated from high school in Colorado, marking the beginning of her journey into the workforce. She dedicated 26 years to Safeway bakery in California, where she developed her skills and formed lasting relationships. Later, Mary continued her career at Hay’s, working in the bakery for an additional 10 years. She found real enjoyment in her work and took pride in her profession. Outside of her career, Mary cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, finding joy in their company. She delighted in playing Hyjinks, shopping, and dining out, especially when she could share these activities as part of her “girl stuff.” Trips to the casino were among her favorite pastimes, where she enjoyed testing her luck, and she also liked playing games on her phone. Mary was remembered by all who knew her as a kind, sweet, and loving soul. Her warmth and generosity touched many hearts, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Mary Catherine Eubanks; her spouse: Donald L Parker, three sisters; Audrey Eubanks, Nancy Eubank and a beloved infant sister.

Mary is survived by her one son; Terry (Marlou Belle) Parker of Fallon, NV, one daughter; Tammy (Devin) Rodgers of Wynne, AR, her two brothers; James Eubanks of Wynne, AR and Johnny Eubanks of Oklahoma City, Ok, five grandchildren and many host of friends and relatives.

Due to unforeseeable events, the family has postponed the memorial service for Mike.

Robert Michael Spivey, Sr., 80, a resident of Forrest City, departed this life, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Methodist hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born, September 17, 1945, in Forrest City, the son of Robert Massey Spivey and Jenny "Lucille" Franks Spivey. He married Miss Mary Arrena Brown on November 27, 1963.

Mike graduated from Forrest City High School in 1963. The following year, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served honorably until 1969, concluding his military service with the rank of Sergeant. After his time in the Air Force, Mike began working alongside his grandfather, hanging wallpaper and painting. Over time, he established his own business, M & M Construction, which he operated with his wife for nearly fifty years. In the last year of his life, Mike devoted himself to caring for his wife after she became ill, demonstrating his deep love and commitment to his family. As a young man, Mike enjoyed playing baseball and later coached his children in the sport. He was a passionate Razorback fan and collected various Razorback sports memorabilia. Known for his friendly nature, Mike never met a stranger and was recognized as a caring individual who readily helped those in need. He was always active, finding joy in duck hunting, fishing, cooking, and woodworking. Above all, Mike cherished his family, with a special devotion to his beloved wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Jenny Spivey, one brother: Ronald “Ronnie” Spivey and a great-grandchild: Aven Gray Butler.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years: Mary Spivey of the home, one son: Robert Spivey, Jr. and his wife Carla of Independence, Mississippi, one daughter: Sherry Spivey of Forrest City, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Due to unforeseeable events, the family has postponed the memorial service for Mike.

William “Chris” Christopher Denton, 62, a resident of Wynne, departed this life, Friday, February 6, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born, March 24, 1963, in Brinkley, the son of Paul Clifton, Sr. and Gracie Bell Swearengin Denton.

Chris was disabled at birth but that didn’t slow him down, he was in the Special Olympics when he was younger and was inducted into the Cross County Hall of Fame. He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, collecting everything Cowboy, including schedules, calendars’, sports sections from the Democrat Gazette paper. He looked forward to visiting with everybody at the hospital before and after dialysis. He made a point to talk to the entire staff at the hospital and would also include some of the patients. Chris loved listening to country music, “picking” at his family and friends. He was a loving man with a great love for his family. He will be missed by many who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul, Sr and Gracie Denton and a brother-in-law: Paul Moore.

Survivors include two brothers: Paul Denton, Jr., Donald Denton, three sisters: Alecia Cameron, Dianna George and husband Len, Karen Denton, all of Wynne, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and numerous friends.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Crossridge Community Hospital for loving Chris and spoiling him on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for 20 plus years. Special thanks to Robert Brawner & Wayne Traylor for being the best friends to Chris. Thank you to Ashley Duncan, NP & Harmony Health for being a wonderful, caring and listening primary Care Provider. Thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their quick and professional service and thank you Dr. Beaton and Dr, Edwards for the many years you all cared for Chris.

Visitation for Chris will be held, Monday evening from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the Woodard Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.at Woodard Funeral Home chapel in Wynne with burial following in Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley.
