The 2025 Walk-a-Mile in My Shoes Rally is happening on Wednesday at the State Capitol in Lansing. People from across Michigan will come together and raise awareness about behavioral health issues and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

You would be caring for a very easy going, developmentally delayed gentlemen that is trach and vent dependent in his home. 🤍The Heart Project🤍
“Healing hearts, one hoof beat at a time.” 🐴

In 2023, our third child was born with a severe congenital heart defect and cleft lip and palate. His future was uncertain, and our world felt like it was crumbling. That same year, we lost our two most beloved horses — gentle souls who had brought our family so much joy and comfort.

It felt like everything we loved was being taken from us. But healing often begins in the most unexpected ways.

Since then, our little heart warrior has endured seven major surgeries and continues to amaze us with his strength. And not long after, a generous family gifted us Molly, a beautiful Halflinger mare — gentle, steady, and incredibly kind. She became a symbol of peace and hope for our family, especially our kids.

There’s a story that Molly once belonged to an Amish family who sold her to help pay for their own baby’s heart treatments. Somehow, this special horse found her way to us — and for the past two years, she’s been quietly healing our hearts, step by step, hoof beat by hoof beat.

And now, it’s time to pass that healing on. 💫

We believe in the quiet peace found in barns, among animals, and surrounded by nature. We believe in the peace that comes from brushing a horse, learning to ride, and simply being present.

👉 If you know a child or family walking through a hard diagnosis or medical battle, we would love to gift them a farm visit and horse lesson package — time to breathe, connect, and heal with Molly and the animals.

PRIVATE DUTY NURSES AVAILABLE NOW. We have some day nurses that are looking for hours in the Jenison, Holland, Hudsonville, Wyoming, Kentwood or Grand Rapids area.
