There's a difference between doing things to students, doing things for students, and doing things with them.
Restorative practices are built on that third one. And as Christians, we have a beautiful model for it: Immanuel, God with us.

Our new blog reflects on what it means to walk alongside students, ask better questions, and pursue repair when things go wrong. It's a good read for any educator thinking about how faith and school culture come together.

Restorative culture isn't built in the big moments. It's built in the small ones.

Every time a teacher pauses to listen before reacting, every time a leader asks "who was affected?" instead of only "what rule was broken?" something is quietly being shaped in that school community.

Our latest blog explores how everyday conversations, not formal programs, are where restorative culture actually takes root.

A strong one-page profile does more than summarize information. It helps schools elevate student voice, communicate with clarity, and support students proactively.

In our newest blog post, we share what makes a one-page profile effective and why this kind of tool can support a culture of inclusive, Christ-centered education.

What changes when we move from knowing about a student to truly knowing them?

A one-page profile helps educators listen well, notice strengths, and understand how a student would like to be supported. It is a simple tool, but it can shape a more thoughtful, Christ-centered school culture that helps everyone belong.

Social-emotional skills grow over time, just like academic skills.

This week, choose one competency — self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, or responsible decision-making — and name a strength you see in a student.

Begin with strengths.

When we slow down to observe carefully, students are more likely to be known, needed, and experience belonging.

In Christ-centered schools, social-emotional development is not separate from faith formation.

If each student bears the image of a relational, loving God, then their emotional and relational growth matters deeply.

This month on the blog, we reflect on how a biblical lens shapes the way we understand social-emotional development, and why it matters for belonging.

“One Size Doesn’t Fit All.”

At the FSI Conference in Texas, Becky Tubergen and Tyler Harms had the opportunity to share practical strategies for personalizing student growth in Christ-centered schools.

We are grateful to the Association of Christian Schools International for inviting us into this space with Christian school educators who are deeply committed to nurturing the hearts and minds of their students.

We talked about what it means to move beyond one-size-fits-all thinking and instead walk through a thoughtful process of knowing students well, responding to their strengths, and helping every learner belong.

Did you see us there? We’d love to hear what stood out to you!
