In Christ-centered schools, social-emotional development is not separate from faith formation.

If each student bears the image of a relational, loving God, then their emotional and relational growth matters deeply.

This month on the blog, we reflect on how a biblical lens shapes the way we understand social-emotional development, and why it matters for belonging.

“One Size Doesn’t Fit All.”

At the FSI Conference in Texas, Becky Tubergen and Tyler Harms had the opportunity to share practical strategies for personalizing student growth in Christ-centered schools.

We are grateful to the Association of Christian Schools International for inviting us into this space with Christian school educators who are deeply committed to nurturing the hearts and minds of their students.

We talked about what it means to move beyond one-size-fits-all thinking and instead walk through a thoughtful process of knowing students well, responding to their strengths, and helping every learner belong.

Did you see us there? We’d love to hear what stood out to you!

Today’s professional development focused on a simple but deep truth: as image-bearers created for community, students are more likely to thrive in school environments rooted in relationships and belonging.

We explored how Tier 1 practices in a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) can nurture social-emotional development and support behavior for every student through shared expectations, predictable routines, daily greetings, classroom circles, and learning environments that feel safe and connected.

We're grateful to walk alongside educators who want every student with a disability to be known, needed, and experiences belonging in their Christ-centered school. How is your team strengthening Tier 1 practices this year?

As we step into the new year, our prayer for 2026 is this:

that you would be known fully,
needed for who you are, and
experience true belonging in every place you go.

Happy New Year from all of us at All Belong!

As you think about year-end giving that helps faithfully build belonging, we want you to be aware of a quiet change at the U.S. Postal Service that may affect mailed gifts this December.

Beginning December 24, 2025, most postmarks will show the date your envelope is processed at a regional postal facility, not the day you dropped it in the mailbox. For donors who still mail checks, that could mean a gift you send on December 31 is postmarked in January and counted for the next tax year.

To help your mailed gift count for 2025, you can:
• Mail your check several days before December 31.
• Ask for a hand-stamped postmark at the Post Office counter when you send it.
• Consider giving online or by electronic transfer instead of by mail. Give easily online at https://allbelong.org/yearend

However you choose to give, thank you for investing in Christ-centered communities where students with disabilities are known, needed, and experience belonging!

Merry Christmas from all of us at All Belong! Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus, who came near so that each person would know they are loved and never alone.

We are grateful for students, families, and school communities sharing Christ’s love in everyday moments of care, joy, and welcome.

May the peace of Christ be with you and those you love today.

This year's Head and Heart Conference is in the books—and one for the record books! We had our biggest group ever with over 100 educators from across the country and beyond! We are truly grateful for their desire to build schools and classrooms where every student is fully known as the child of God that they are. We can't wait to hear about the difference you will all make in the lives of your students!

Day one of our Head and Heart Conference was an incredible day of learning and collaboration. We dove into understanding the Head and Heart Framework that equips Christ-centered educators to know students excellently--and we kept it interactive, having fun while we learned!

Head and Heart Conference week is here! Before the conference starts on Thursday, some of our attendees chose to come a day early for school tours around Grand Rapids.

Educators from North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Virginia, and the Dominican Republic spent the day visiting four All Belong Member Schools, asking questions, exploring classrooms, and gathering ideas to bring back to their own communities—all with the goal of making sure every student is known, needed, and experiences belonging.

Special thanks to the Member Schools who hosted today! Their long-term commitment to inclusive education gives others a picture of what belonging can look like over time.

There's still time to make a difference!

Every dollar you give tonight will have double the impact to help more students like Nolan experience God's love through belonging.
