It is Movement Monday, and today we are bringing the movement to you! 🪑💜

For those living with Parkinson's, staying active does not always mean hitting the gym. Seated exercises are a safe, accessible way to keep the body moving, build strength, and support balance, all from the comfort of a chair.

Here are a few simple moves to try right now:
🙌 Arm Raises: Slowly lift both arms overhead and lower them back down.
🦵 Seated Leg Lifts: Extend one leg at a time and hold for a few seconds.
🔄 Ankle Circles: Rotate each ankle in slow circles to keep joints loose.
🤸 Torso Twists: Gently rotate your upper body side to side.
👐 Hand Squeezes: Open and close your hands to keep grip strength up.

Always check with a doctor or physical therapist before starting a new exercise routine. And remember, every little bit counts! 💪

Not all fats are created equal. Some fats help support heart and brain health, while others are best enjoyed in moderation. Understanding the difference can make everyday food choices easier. 🫒💜

Good fats are typically unsaturated fats. These fats can help support cholesterol levels, brain function, and overall heart health. You’ll often find them in foods like:
• Avocados
• Olive oil and canola oil
• Nuts and seeds
• Fatty fishlike salmon and tuna

Bad fats are usually saturated or trans fats. Eating too much of these fats may increase the risk of heart health concerns, so they are best limited when possible. Common sources include:

🚨 URGENT: Wynter is at the ER 🚨

Our tiny Havapoo, Wynter, is fighting hard right now.

Since coming to us from ACCT Philly, Wynter has seen multiple vets, had her blood drawn over and over, been on six different antibiotics (including one so strong her foster had to wear gloves to handle it), and undergone x-rays and an abdominal ultrasound. Despite everything, she kept getting sicker and no one could tell us why.

Wynter had an appointment scheduled with an internal medicine specialist in April, but she simply couldn’t wait that long.

She’s at the ER now so ahe can be evaluated because her condition became too urgent to delay. She’s tired, and we’re doing everything we can to get her the answers and the treatment she desperately needs.

We need our village once again. We’re still in debt from the last round of emergency medical from Loon, Aries and the care Wynter received up to this point Emergency specialty care is incredibly expensive, but this little girl deserves every chance we can give her.

A few smart choices can help seniors and caregivers enjoy nutritious meals while sticking to a budget:

• Plan simple meals ahead of time to avoid food waste
• Choose store brands, frozen fruits, and frozen vegetables
• Cook once and enjoy leftovers for another meal
• Buy in-season produce when possible
• Use beans, lentils, and eggs as affordable protein options

Healthy eating can be practical, affordable, and supportive of healthy aging.
