Textured vs. Smooth Implants- what’s the difference? 👀

Over the years, we’ve found that smooth-walled implants are often our preferred choice for many patients.

✨ Smooth implants allow for more natural movement within the breast pocket
✨ They tend to create a softer feel
✨ And often provide very natural-looking results

So where do textured implants come in? 🤷‍♀️

👉 Textured implants were originally designed to help the implant stay in place and reduce the chance of certain complications like capsular contracture.
👉 However, textured implants have also been associated with a rare condition called BIA-ALCL, which has led many surgeons (including our team) to favor smooth implants in many cases.

That said, every patient is different.

The right implant choice always depends on your anatomy, goals, and surgical plan.
