Hundreds of people want to help you. Here’s how to find them.

For mental healthcare and addiction treatment you can afford right in your community, go to: helpstartsherevirginia.org.

You’ll talk with someone who listens, asks about what’s going on, and helps you figure out next steps. It’s a conversation, not a test. CSBs like Mount Rogers can often provide services or connect you with services on your first visit. You may or may not get therapy or medication that day, but you will leave with a plan. Visits are always confidential. We also offer support for substance use through recovery programs and counseling.

Insurance is not needed to receive services. CSBs like Mount Rogers serve people with or without insurance. Anyone can receive services from a CSB, regardless of their ability to pay.

Even if you’ve tried to get help before and it was hard, it’s worth trying again. Taking a new step – even a small one – can open different options. You’re not expected to navigate this alone.

Employee Excellence Award - February
Emilie Perez (at left in the photo with Kim Woodlee, director of crisis response services) is an easy pick for our February Employee Excellence Award because she's a person you definitely want on your team. Like when you really need folks in the midst of winter's storms, she's one who will be a big help in carrying the team.

Her dedication to her job shined through in consecutive snowstorms and icy conditions, when traveling was a serious hazard. First, she drove more than an hour to her job as a crisis counselor at the Smyth Crisis Care and Receiving Center.

Then — although typically she works overnight -- in the first storm she worked four overnights. For the second storm she worked two overnights. Just amazing! Many kudos to you, Emilie!

🌍 Today is World Teen Mental Wellness Day 💚
At Mount Rogers Community Services, we’re joining the global effort to raise awareness, spark conversation, and support the mental well‑being of teens in our communities.
Adolescence can be challenging, and it’s more important than ever to remind young people that:
--Their feelings matter.
--They are not alone.
--Help and hope are always available.

Let’s create a supportive environment where teens feel safe to speak openly about mental health, ask questions, and seek support when they need it.
💬 If you know a teen who may be struggling, a simple check‑in can make a world of difference.
💚 If you are a teen feeling overwhelmed, reaching out is a sign of strength.
