There are many simple ways to make opportunities to grow your child's language skills! Coming up I am going to share some of the ones I have loved doing with kids over the years.

As we head into the cold fall and winter months, find a simple playdough recipe online like this one (https://www.iheartnaptime.net/play-dough-recipe/), make it together (OR just use storebought dough which works just fine too!) and then spend a little time every few days imagining together all the things the dough can be! Think outside the box: if you cut out "cookies" decorate them with different bits or colors or even add sprinkles for fun. Squish the colors together and see what new colors are made, or create little people or animals from your dough and make them different foods to eat. Or maybe your child loves cars - get out the matchbox cars and create a town and roads on your kitchen table that they can drive on. Talk about what you're both doing - either narrate your own actions or theirs. Then bag it all up into a ziplock and pull it out a few days later and play again or make a new game!! The possibilities are endless!
