When having a tough convo, face to face is best.
Keep it light when talking on a screen.

Remember 70% of communication is body language, tone and facial expressions. You can't see that through a phone.

How to resolve a conflict in a relationship, use the speaker listener technique.

Here's how it works:
First person shares what they feel and think while the second person listens only.
Then the second person repeats what they heard.
The first person then confirms they were heard correctly or revises what was said to be better understood.

Then the two people switch roles and do it again.

Using this technique allows each person to be heard completely hopefully helping bring a resolve to the situation.

Choose the deciding approach.

Take it slow, think it through before you make a commitment.

Don't just slide into a relationship.

You don’t need an excuse to protect your peace.
Learning to say no is part of setting healthy boundaries.
Let this be your reminder—it’s okay to choose rest, space, or silence.

💖 It’s Okay, You Are Loved 💖

Valentine’s Day can bring up many feelings—joy, sadness, loneliness, or even grief. If today feels heavy, please know this: Your worth isn’t defined by your relationship status. You are seen, you are valued, and you are deeply loved. 💗

Whether you’re spending today solo, with friends, or holding close the memory of someone you’ve lost, your feelings are valid. 🌸 Love exists in many forms, and one of the most important is the love you show yourself.

You are never alone in your journey. ❤️

Think Twice Healthy Relationships Program - Yakima

In 2015 “THINK TWICE Healthy Relationships” was launched as a no-cost interactive presentation for students, to focus on pregnancy and STD prevention. It is a program of Life Choices of Yakima. Students are encouraged to make smart choices aimed at a better future and to value their sexual health.

In 2019, Life Choices was awarded a federal grant, the Title V Competitive S*xual Risk Avoidance Education grant, to implement THINK TWICE Healthy Relationships on a larger scale. The grant falls under Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention. THINK TWICE now uses federally approved curricula, age-appropriate for both middle schools and high schools, and addresses students ages 11–19. RELATIONSHIP SMARTS PLUS 4.0 SRA (RS) is used for middle school students and younger teens; LOVE NOTES 3.0 SRA (LN) is used for high school age students 15-19. In order to support schools’ and youth-based organizations’ challenging mission of training and equipping youth, the content of the program is frequently updated and revised with current information.

Both RS and LN are medically and scientifically accurate, reviewed and approved by the Family and Youth Services Bureau. RS meets the guidelines outlined in the Healthy Relationships Act of 2017. LN is included in the federal Office of Adolescent Health’s Evidence-Based Program list, based on statistically significant decreases in sexual activity, increases in contraceptive use, and avoidance of pregnancy. These curricula apply to all students regardless of age, sexual orientation, or if they are sexually active or abstinent.

Think Twice Presentations fulfill Themes 1-8 of the Federal Guidelines for the abstinence portion of sexual education in compliance with the Healthy Youth Act.
