Yakima Valley Bowen Work

Yakima Valley Bowen Work I help you erase illness and pain and return to a more vibrant and resilient life.

I began my healthcare career as a massage therapist, but found my groove as a Bowenwork practitioner. Sharing the awe inspiring change that Bowenwork can create with clients brings me joy and seeing clients light up when they feel a new connection in their body during a Bowenwork session is deeply rewarding. My history involves competing in high level athletics, which comes with its share of injuries. As an athlete I found myself on the receiving end of quality bodywork; this sparked my passion for the healing arts. First with the magic of Structural Relief Therapy, then with the gentle yet powerful Bowenwork or Bowen Therapy. I am passionate about helping people, by creating a space for them to reconnect with their body in a deeply relaxing way they discover the unknown cause of their chronic pain, ultimately helping them achieve a higher quality of life. Pelvic Procedure Exercise. This is great for low back and hip pain. Make sure to do the easier or looser side first.
Start your morning with this movement before standing.

Hamstring Flexibility Research in my words, Bowenwork helped more than regular soft tissue therapy to increase hamstring range of motion. Keep reading if you want the nitty gritty.

Hamstring muscle injuries are one of the most common musculotendinous injuries in the lower extremity. They occur primarily during high speed or high intensity exercises and have a high rate of recurrence. Lack of hamstring flexibility was the single most important characteristics of hamstring injuries in athletes. Bowen Technique and Dynamic Soft Tissue Mobilization both help in improving hamstring flexibility. So the main objective of this study is to compare the effectiveness of Bowen Technique and Dynamic Soft Tissue Mobilization in improving hamstring flexibility. This will help us to find out the most effective treatment to improve hamstring flexibility in individuals with hamstring tightness.

60 subjects aged 18-30 years from Dr. M. V. Shetty College of physiotherapy in Mangalore were included.

The subjects were divided into two groups of 30 each. Pre-test and Post-test measurements were taken by Active Knee Extension Test. Group A received Bowen Technique and Group B received Dynamic Soft Tissue Mobilization. RESULTS:Average change in Dynamic soft tissue mobilization group after treatment was 7.133+1.383 with a change of 24.71% and in that of Bowen technique group, average change was 11.233+3.148 with a change of 37.91%. Test shows that there is high significant difference between groups with respect to treatment effect so Bowen technique is significantly better compared to Dynamic soft tissue mobilization.

This is the first in a short series of videos that I created. The series entails all of the Bowenwork Aftercare Exercises. The Hamstring Exercise is one that is given after working on the hamstring during a Bowenwork session. This movement pattern helps lengthen the hamstring muscles by contracting the opposite muscles group. Give it a try as a dynamic warm up before going for your daily walk

After receiving Bowenwork's Hamstring Procedure, this movement helps stretch the hamstrings using the nervous system and the opposing muscles of the quads an...

Here is what a Bulgarian ultra-marathoner thinks about Bowenwork,
"Yes, I think it was very useful for me. Usually, after such a heavy load, my legs are very tight, they relax days later and then the muscle fever begins. After the race, I had the feeling that I will have a very painful muscle soreness straight after the first day. Surprisingly, I did not have muscle fever at all. This significantly accelerated my recovery and saved a lot of discomfort and pain. I think it’s due to Bowen :) Thank you!"

Every body is better with Bowenwork

I have always been drawn to the healing arts and exploration of the human body. When I was young many people would ask me to give them massages. As an athlete I became drawn to massage and movement practices to help recovery from injury and the optimize performance. I am a native of central Washington and began my journey in bodywork by attending Yakima Valley Body Therapy Institute in 2008. I began practicing massage in a medical setting for several years, providing treatment to injured athletes, farm workers, and other patients. I soon learned that traditional Swedish massage had limitations, thus catapulting me towards Structural Relief Therapy and later Bowenwork®. In 2015, I became a certified Bowenwork® Practitioner after discovering the amazing healing power of this gentle technique. I am passionate about taking patients from injury and illness to wellness and vitality and working with patients whose recovery has plateaued. Utilizing my unique skill set, along with patience, listening, and empathy, I strive to guide each client in their healing journey. I really enjoy working with clients who have challenging cases, such as bulging discs, whiplash, plantar fasciitis, and many other chronic issues. Another group I enjoy working with, are mothers and children- before, during, and after birth.
