Chart Your Career CNA Camp is just one of several Career Camps available to Mitchell Area students this summer and they are absolutely free.

CNA Camp 2022 provides students age 16+ with basic medical training, allowing each student an opportunity to make an informed decision about whether a healthcare career is the right choice. Plus CNA certification is required for many post-secondary nursing programs and working as a Certified Nursing Assistant is rewarding.

CNA certification can be costly, but at Chart Your Career CNA Camp, a scholarship, funded through a workforce grant from Advantage South Dakota, 8 students will be awarded scholarships ($1800 value) which include online course, textbook, clinical training, t-shirt and the certification test.

Training is provided by Avera Education & Staffing Solutions with camp held at Mitchell Tech in Room 174 on July 6-8 and 11-12 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Chart Your Career CNA training program has one new opening in this summer’s FREE high school camp! This 8 day camp trains and certifies students as certified nursing assistants and in CPR. The camp provides free training, testing, required materials, lunches and snacks.

The camp runs this week from 8:30a-5p on Wednesday-Friday and Monday-Friday next week. The students will also learn about healthcare careers. The camp is open to regional high school students who are at least 16 years of age.

“I kind of got my exposure to healthcare working at a nursing home in high school and that’s kind of where I saw about the need for caring for individuals in medicine and I decided that was how I wanted to spend my time and kind of devote myself to a career,”

🎓 Congratulations to our students for completing the Summer CNA Camp! 🎓

Our students joined with RTEC, Inc. (Regional Technical Education Center)'s Summer Manufacturing and Entrepreneurial Academy's students for a joint recognition ceremony. Congressman Dusty Johnson was the featured speaker.
