Many of our players (including kindergartners) are showing tremendous promise in chess. Moments like this make what we do worthwhile. Our chess program has over 30 local kids.

For 10 years, Yellow Springs kids have grown through this program—learning focus, confidence, and leadership. Many of the faces you see here started as beginners and today they mentor the next generation.

These aren’t just players. They are your neighbors, your kids’ role models, and the heart of a program that has kept Yellow Springs Chess alive for a decade.

We’re now raising funds to expand materials, add more teaching staff, support scholarships, and grow our year-round events so even more children can benefit.

Yellow Springs families—Village kids are growing fast, and so is their need for strong critical-thinking skills and positive community activities. The Yellow Springs Kids Chess Program has served dozens of students each year with structured instruction, Summer Chess Camps, and a safe, focused after school chess program
