The 2nd thing that happened at the MVLTCA Meeting today that involves FCC, is that our Executive Director, Mike Montgomery, was honored with the MVLTCA Leadership Award.
The following was said when they the MVLTCA Leadership Award to him:
"We want to honor another individual whose leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to high-quality elder care have shaped since not only his facility, but the broader the community and the lives of countless residents. It is with great pride that we recognize Mike Montgomery, LNHA whose work reflects the very best of what long-term care can be.
Mike has been a board member of MVLTCA for nearly 25 years, and he has contributed countlessly over that time. For more than 10 years Mike served as the Association’s treasurer.
Mike’s journey in senior care began in 1992 earning his Administrator License and has been defined by a simple but powerful vision: that every resident deserves to live in a place where they feel valued, respected, and genuinely at home. From his earliest days in the field, he has demonstrated an uncommon dedication to understanding the needs of older adults—not just clinically, but emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Under his leadership, the nursing home he oversees has become a model of person-centered care, where individualized attention, dignity, and compassion guide every decision.
Mike has been the Administrator for Friend’s Care Community for more than 8 years where the facility consistently is ranked as one of the most successful in the region; gaining the top ranked facility for the ODA family satisfaction in Greene County and third highest in the in the Miami Valley. Also, for most of the time at Friends, the facility has achieved 4-5-star status including 5 stars running the last 5 years. Previously, Mike served as Executive Director of Grace Brethren Village and achieved 9 deficiency-free surveys over 13 years.
But what truly sets Mike apart is his leadership style. He leads with humility, steadiness, and an unmistakable belief in the potential of his staff. He understands that a nurturing workplace culture is essential to delivering exceptional care, and he invests heavily in staff development, mentorship, and team building. His team members know they can count on him—not only as an administrator, but as an advocate, a mentor, and a source of unwavering support.
Please join me in honoring Mike Montgomery, a leaders whose contributions have uplifted his organization, strengthened his community, and made a profound difference in the lives of the people he serves."
