Our residents have been busy getting ready for a very special night!

Our residents had a wonderful time creating handmade corsages and boutonnières for our Resident Prom on May 1st!

We can’t wait to celebrate a fun and memorable night together!

Lots of sparkle and creativity today!

Our residents made mosaic gem art and colorful sun catchers. The sun came out at the perfect time for photos, truly showing off how beautiful they are. Each piece turned out beautifully and is uniquely their own!

Our residents had good time celebrating Easter this week!

Yesterday, they watched as our adorable preschool friends had a fun-filled Easter egg hunt full of smiles, laughter, and special moments. Today, the celebration continued as we gathered to dye beautiful Easter eggs together—bringing out creativity and lots of color!

We’re so grateful for these intergenerational memories and the joy they bring to everyone involved. Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter this Sunday!

Happy First Day of Spring!

During Bingo today, our activities staff shared a fun tradition—that on the first day of spring, everything is perfectly balanced and can stand up straight.

We tested it with an egg (and it worked!), then tried the most uneven broomstick we could find… and it stood straight up to everyone’s surprise!

Give it a try at home with a broomstick, egg, or even a quarter!

It is said to only work today, so try it again tomorrow and see what happens (did it fall)?

We had a great time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀

Our Extended Care residents enjoyed a festive party yesterday followed by a lucky game of Bingo, and today our Assisted Living residents joined in the fun with their own celebration. So many smiles and special moments shared! 💚

At today's Assisted Living Christmas Party, Santa decided to stop by and pay us a visit (with gifts)!!!

I know this is a time of joy, fun and great Christmas cheer (and I hope to keep posting the great cheer from FCC), but as I was cleaning out some things in my office, I came upon evidence of the worst moment in my career.

That moment was March 14, 2020, when I had to post the following sign to inform people that we are restricting "...ALL Visitors...," from coming into FCC.

This was truly a dark day that I will never forget.

Two great things happened at Miami Valley Long Term Care Asso. (MVLTCA), Holiday Luncheon Meeting today that involved FCC.
First-Hannah Moorman, RN, was awarded the MVLTCA Winter Scholarship . This is what was said to her when they presented this award:
"Hannah is being awarded the MVLTCA education scholarship because of her strong commitment to long-term care, her proven leadership, and her dedication to advancing the profession. With 13 years of experience—including eight as a Director of Nursing at Friends Care Community—she has demonstrated a deep passion for person-centered care and a desire to make a meaningful impact on residents, families, and staff.
Now serving as an Administrator in Training, she is pursuing the to strengthen the clinical and leadership skills needed to meet the growing demand for effective nursing home administrators. Her ability to balance full-time work, graduate studies, and her administrator residency reflects her perseverance and integrity. This scholarship will further support her growth as a compassionate, skilled leader in elder care."
