St. John’s Riverside Hospital was honored to welcome the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation team for our Year One celebration! It was inspiring to showcase the dedication and achievements of our incredible workgroups—CNO Advisory Board, Interprofessional Cooperation, Shared Governance Steering, Nurse Well-Being, and the Nurse Leader Work Environment—who help our hospital thrive every day.
As we step into Year Two, we’re excited to build on our momentum while launching three new initiatives: a Nursing Strategic Plan, Nurse Leader Orientation and Transition Program, and a Learning Needs Assessment.

As part of our Pathway to Excellence Program, we hosted two special nursing events where we officially launched our Nursing Professional Practice Model (PPM) and kicked off our Shared Governance Retreat.

Members of our nursing team connected with staff coming on and off shift to introduce our anchor PPM, share the meaning behind it, and distribute our inaugural Nursing Newsletter. This marks an exciting milestone in our journey as we continue building a culture where nurses thrive and patients flourish.

We also celebrated our Shared Governance Retreat Day, where clinical nurses, nurse leader mentors, and nurse educators came together to review the purpose and scope of each core council and outline the structure and processes for advancing their work.
