Merk Chemists has been family owned and operated for over a century. Pharmacist Herman Merk founded Merk Chemists in 1896. Merk owned and operated the pharmacy until he retired to Florida in 1958. Today, it is the oldest pharmacy in Westchester County, third oldest in New York, and a landmark of the South East Yonkers landscape. We are family owned and operated, and place great emphasis on customer service. At Merk’s, we continue to specialize in patient counselling, compounded medications, sports & nutritional supplements, natural health products, gluten free products and information, custom, speciality & hard-to-find items, home care aids, general drug store products, and good ol’fashioned banter - all things you won’t find at those “chain” drug stores.
