Step into the operatory with Dr. Avi Shelemay as he takes us behind the scenes of a patient’s fractured central incisor restoration, sharing the meticulous process from extraction to implant placement.

Dr. Shelemay says, “Patient presented with a fractured central incisor accompanied by an apical lesion. Central incisor was extracted, and a buccal fenestration was noted at the time of extraction. Guided immediate implant placement was performed along with bone grafting.

Autogenous bone was harvested and layered directly over the implant to correct the buccal defect, followed by placement of an allograft to further augment the site. A Xenoprotect membrane and a Cytoplast membrane were utilized to contain and stabilize the graft materials. Closure was achieved using Cytoplast and Glycolon sutures.”
