Today, we observe Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season — a sacred time of reflection, repentance, prayer, and renewal.

At SpiriTrust Lutheran, we recognize this day as an invitation to pause, turn our hearts toward God, and remember the hope and grace that sustain us. As the sign of ashes reminds us of our humanity, it also points us to the promise of forgiveness and new life through Christ.

During the first week of February, we were pleased to welcome two members of Concordia Lutheran Ministries' leadership team — Brian Hortert, COO, and Tammy Young, CFO of Concordia Community Support Services — to our six communities. During their visit, they met with independent living residents and team members to introduce Concordia, share a high-level overview of the transition process, and answer thoughtful questions about joining the Concordia family of services.

As we begin this exciting new chapter for SpiriTrust Lutheran, we appreciate everyone who participated in these conversations and look forward to additional meetings in the coming weeks.

𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘌𝘯𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘝𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘚𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘬𝘭𝘦 𝘋𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦

Brenna discovered her passion for working with seniors while volunteering at a retirement home in high school — and she’s been following that calling ever since.

She says her favorite part of working at SpiriTrust Lutheran is the incredible support system and the residents who feel like family. “Who else gets to say they have over 100 sets of grandparents?” she shares.

By age 28, Brenna will have held both of her dream jobs — serving as a Life Enrichment Director and, soon, becoming a mom. What an amazing accomplishment!

Her favorite quote?
“Enjoy the little things in life. One day you'll look back and realize they were the big things.”
Fun fact: Brenna used to be on a juggling team — juggling, spinning plates, and even walking on stilts!

Residents at The Village at Utz Terrace personal care residence are sharing the love this Valentine’s season! Residents decorated brown paper lunch bags with hearts, stickers, and cheerful Valentine messages before rolling up their sleeves to make PB&J sandwiches and pack brownies, applesauce, and potato chips for clients at the Changing Lives shelter operated by the Council of Churches in Hanover.

Each lunch was topped off with a handmade Valentine card and “Jesus Loves You” figures — small reminders that someone cares. ❤️

SpiriTrust Lutheran® is seeking a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to join our team at The Village at Luther Ridge in Chambersburg. This full-time leadership role offers competitive compensation, robust benefits, and paid time off.

We’re looking for a mission-driven leader with a passion for serving older adults and at least 5 years of supervisory/management experience in long-term care. A current PA Nursing Home Administrator license and a relevant bachelor’s degree are required.
