❤️🤝March is National Social Work Month, and we’re celebrating the dedicated professionals who advocate for residents and families every day. Rebecca Chancey, Director of Social Services at The Village at Sprenkle Drive, has spent six years in social work and a total of 10 years in long-term care. Rebecca says what she loves most about her role is advocating for those without a voice and becoming like a second family to residents — supporting them whether they’re working toward returning home or finding comfort in life’s final moments. She believes social work matters because everyone needs help at times, and social workers ensure people receive the support they need.

It is time to spring ahead! Daylight saving time begins Sunday at 2 a.m. Don’t forget to set any clocks that aren’t on a smart device ahead one hour before heading to bed tonight. We lose an hour of sleep tonight, but we will happily take an extra hour of sunlight at the end of each day until November 1!

Team members at The Village at Utz Terrace shared the love in early February by submitting photos of their furry (and fabulous!) family members for a Pet Photo Contest! The lobby was filled with wagging tails and whiskered faces as staff, residents, and families cast their votes.

Residents at The Village at Shrewsbury personal care residence went for the gold this month with their own Winter Olympics celebration! From “ice” hockey showdowns to an Olympic bean bag toss through the rings, the competition was friendly but fierce. They wrapped up the festivities with a medal ceremony to honor the champions and celebrate everyone who participated.🥇❄
