Supporting brain health is an important part of overall wellness!

It’s !

Brain health is an important part of overall well-being. Staying mentally active, socially connected, and engaged in meaningful experiences can help support cognitive wellness and quality of life at every stage of aging.

At Asbury, programs like Kinnections Brain Health support cognitive wellness through personalized plans, engaging activities, and tools designed to help residents stay mentally active and connected.

Follow along this week to see how we’re celebrating brain health across our communities!

Last evening we enjoyed a bus trip to York College of Pennsylvania for "A Glimpse of Chinese Culture Through Dance", featuring the Sunshine Chinese Dance Club and their beautiful performance, “Rhythms of the Land.”

This meaningful outing supported Asbury Normandie Ridge’s Connected in Belonging initiative by bringing residents and associates together to experience and appreciate diverse cultures.

The evening was both beautiful and insightful. Thank you to the York College students and YCP Office of Student Culture and Belonging for sharing such a special performance with us!

This week, our Residential Living Knitting Group warmed hearts in more ways than one. 🧶💙

After weeks of knitting, the group presented a collection of handmade shrugs for our neighbors in our Skilled Nursing Center to Tina, our Lifestyle Enrichment Professional, who will help deliver them.

Each shrug was made with care and kindness—a beautiful example of neighbors helping neighbors in our community.

What’s your favorite act of kindness? 💙

It Takes a Ridge!

Our Department Heads and Leadership Team gathered for a special luncheon last week to celebrate an incredible 2025! 🎉

If you know us, you know how well we work together and collaborate. That teamwork is what continues to drive our success and makes moments like this worth celebrating.

It’s never too late to celebrate greatness, strong leadership, and the accomplishments we achieved together. Here’s to continued success ahead! 👏

❄️🏅Winter Olympics 2026 🏅❄️

As the world celebrated the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, our own champions took center stage right here at our Skilled Nursing Center! Throughout the week, residents competed in fun-filled events like darts, bowling, horseshoes, archery, snowball accuracy toss, and basketball — proving that the spirit of the Olympics lives strong in our community.

From friendly competition to unforgettable memories, the week was filled with laughter, teamwork, and joy.

A special thank you to our Well-Being Director, Bryan Sweeney, and his amazing team for organizing such a wonderful experience for our residents! 👏

🎨🧠 Creativity does more than fill time: it helps keep minds active and resilient as we age.

Research highlighted in Psychology Today shows that creative engagement can strengthen brain networks linked to attention, planning, and flexible thinking, and even help delay brain aging. The study notes that "[creativity] strengthens pathways that normally weaken with age and stimulates neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to adapt and reorganize."

That's why programs like the Creative Place Cottage at Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community -- where older adults take part in hands-on craft workshops that spark imagination and connection -- are so important. We're proud to see Embracing Aging grant dollars go toward efforts that support healthy aging in ways that are both meaningful and joyful: initiatives that recognize aging as a time for growth, not slowdown.

The Breakfast Club rolled into Red Lion for a delicious breakfast at a local favorite, Lion's Pride Restaurant, and, of course, we had to snap a picture with our brand-new bus logo.

We’re so grateful to our generous donor for making the new logos on our bus and three campus vehicles a reality. Thank you for your support! Because of you, we’re riding in style and easy to spot around town. Keep an eye out for the Normandie Ridge crew because we’re on the move!

Despite what the groundhog said, we’re already gearing up for spring, and enjoyed a truly heartwarming event yesterday. 🌱⚾

We welcomed guest speaker Andrew Lilley for a special screening of the award-winning documentary I’ll Knock a Homer for You, sharing the unforgettable true story of Babe Ruth’s promise to young Johnny Sylvester during the 1926 World Series.

Told from a unique family perspective, this uplifting film, and Andrew’s live Q&A, reminded us of the power of kindness, hope, and a promise kept. A beautiful afternoon full of history and heart. 💙
